It'd be funny having footprints and watching FATE swarms. Around Coerthas there would hardly be any unpacked snow left.

Nope, I hadn't heard anything about this. THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting! I really appreciate the clarity. I, myself, do not read the forms often enough to know every little thing so I probably missed this. This makes me really happy to hearAgain, thank you for posting with this info!
(boo cant quote the whole post as it makes my post to long)
Just outta curiosity so I don't have to start a new thread; has anyone heard anything about the possibility of improving weather effects? In specific, rain. Like showing the droplets hitting the ground? In example:
I personally think XIV's current rain looks very bland compared to this screenshot which makes the weather seem very real and 3D like, like its actually raining in the game. In XIV it feels like...I'm not sure how to explain it...Like its not in the game and I can barely see the rain going down the screen. It feels almost like its on the TV screen and not in the game...if that makes any sense lol
Square Enix already provided a developers response on this.
If they considered the memory footprint and the development time something worth adding, they'd consider it in the future, but currently has no solid plans to add it.
The lack of foot prints bugs me, especially when riding my mounts... It was one of the first things I noticed when playing the game. I support the addition of this feature ♥
I know exactly what you're saying. A lot of times, I've actually thought that there was something wrong with my monitor, because I kept thinking "What is that occasional static-y flickering I'm seeing?" - and then I realize it's rain... It's pretty bad. Impact points for the rain drops would go a long way in helping this.I personally think XIV's current rain looks very bland compared to this screenshot which makes the weather seem very real and 3D like, like its actually raining in the game. I'd like to see this. It makes the snow areas feel too fake.
