Castrum grind might stop me from subbing

All I got from this thread is that a) you don't want to work for your gear like everyone else has been doing, you just want to have it handed to you on a gilded-silver ornate platter, and b) you don't understand the difference between TOMESTONES and tombstones.

Farming the same dungeons for specific gear has been an MMO staple for many, many years. I'm sorry that MMO's, therefore, may not be your cup of tea.

What the f^%$ are you on about, i've played 80+ MMO's in my life and i've never seen a grind like this game makes you do, saying its an mmo staple is outright BULLSHIT, maybe play something other than FF11 FF14 and WoW and you might notice you are full of it.

I'm like 900% Positive there aren't even 80 MMOs in existence. Now or in the past.

Regardless, the reason this game is so grindy right now is cause its new... Sure there have been better launches and worse, but theres very few options in terms of Dungeons and such in most MMO Launches. Personally, I would love if Guildleves or Guildhests gave Tomes, would actually give me a reason to do either of them (Leves i use on Crafts Entirely)... A lot of quality improvements are coming in 2.1... Just wish it would get here already lol

Lets just totally exclude Wanderer's palace from the equation, cause you know it's not like you can't do it in Half the time, while picking about about 50 tomestones, plus other loot. Get a 4 person party, and just grind out wanderer's palace, turn in gear drops you don't want to use for GC seals, sell the relic weapon parts on the MB cause there are always idiots willing to buy them, etc. Problem solved.

Instead of automatically writing every other option off without considering, try actually figuring it all out.

That's why we won't sub. Repeating CM and AK over and over and over isn't good game design. Maybe we'll try again when 2.1 hits.

That's mainly because the replies are to cookie cutter complaints

As for CM being the only viable way of obtaining tomestones, not really. You can get more tomestones per hour in, for example, a good Garuda HM group, with the added benefit that you can farm Garuda weapons.

That said, I do wish there was a bit more variety as well (which is hopefully coming with 2.1), and that trash has a chance of dropping a couple of tomestones so it doesn't feel completely useless killing them

You can still progress without farming cm right? You do know that no one is forcing you to run cm right?

So stop blaming cm farms. You are not being tied to do cm runs silly kid. You have a lot of options like crafting make money then buy the crafted i70s.

I admit Castrum is starting to kill me slowly on the inside .

They needed more dungeons from the start that actually dropped DL gear. I can see the next hard mode dungeons coming into the game at 2.1 will be for DL gears.. and what ever Crystal Tower throws at us.

I actually like the game its gameplay and story and its boss fights etc but the thought of having to farm the same dungeon ( and its not even a proper one) over and over mindlessly has sadly put me off this game.

How, exactly, is Castrum the only viable option? Praetorium is not only more fun, with relatively decent gear (some DL) it can be run as fast as Castrum. If by "viable" you mean "can be slept through, can AFK through, don't have to think about," then you shouldn't be subbing at all. I wouldn't want to encounter you in my random DF Praetoria, but fortunately since you'll only run the worst possible "grinding" dungeon, ignoring Amdapor Keep or the Praetorium, Wanderer's Palace, or Primal HMs. Pathetic.
