Either you're a troll, or you just have the reading comprehension of one. All you're reading is "I have a job" and when you look at 'I don't like to grind Castrum', you're somehow reading that as 'I don't like to grind.' Nowhere in the OP is it even implied that he wants gear handed to him.

If I say I don't like to eat bananas for every meal, that doesn't mean I don't like to eat and want my nutrients to be automatically supplied from within my body. It means I want more variety in what I have to eat than just bananas.

Dear Twelve, I'm using bananas to try and explain something...

Imagine that. Someone not wanting their pretendy-funtime game to be another job they're paying for the privilege of doing. Gosh. How lazy, right Seregil? Not like you, surely. I bet you're a very hard worker, Seregil. A very, very hard worker, yes?

Did you know that someday, the MMO Fairy will recognize the Truly Elite such as yourself and you shall be exalted above all lower forms of life? Its true.

But you're not there yet. The MMO Fairy needs you to do a couple things first. You're such a hard worker, I can't imagine it'd be much for the likes of you.

Fetch a tiny bit of red snappah for us, won't you? Ten thousand should be enough.

    The MMO Fairy is watching!

The OP wanting more options does not imply that he wants the rewards handed to him and the fact that you brought up WoW in the discussion is just as useless as bringing up Hitler, Nazi's, and organized religion in a political debate to explain why you are correct.

to the OP I am right there with ya on certain things here I would wait until 2.1 if you arent having as much fun. all they /mentioned/ was what we saw at the TGS maybe they may pull a Kojima and have a bunch of other dungeons to do for stones.

Castrum grinding is a symptom of a much larger problem. The problem isn't that it's boring to repeat, and that we need more dungeons to provide more variety. The problem is that the entire end-game theme of repeating dungeons is part of a forced, linear system of progression that is limiting what players are allowed to do with their time in Eorzea -- a world that could easily have been made into a "theme park", as it has been built with the potential for so much more content than mindless dungeon spamming.

Variety in end-game dungeons isn't what we need to be asking for. That will only serve as a short-term mask to one symptom of the root problems with this game. We need to be asking for reasons to level our other jobs. We need to be asking for more ways to gear them so they can all be equally viable. And in order to accomplish this, we need to be asking for more horizontally-scaling content so that we can still be viable if we play whatever job we're in the mood for on any given day.

The game needs to go beyond spamming dungeons for tokens, or raiding one raid at a time in a forced progression pattern for the next tier of vertically-scaling, linear gear. Before you say that we need these things in order to keep players motivated, keep in mind that these things only encourage players to limit themselves to one of nine jobs, meaning that they are currently cheating players out of 88.9% of the game's potential play value. Is that really a worthwhile trade-off? I'd wager that most players would say "no." Especially when you combine this game's current focus on one job per player with the game's inclusion of the holy trinity, which is a combination that limits which of your friends you can play with.

Don't get me wrong -- dungeons and raids aren't bad things to give to players, nor is the holy trinity inherently bad. The WAY that this game has implemented them, however, is confused and misguided, as it contradicts the entire multi-job character system. The multi-job character system could have multiplied the enjoyment of every single end-game activity from launch onward by a factor of nine and allowed players to party with any friends they liked, and yet all signs indicate that the system is going to be completely ignored save for unlocking a few extra actions on your main job. It's a real shame, when you actually think about all of the potential that's being completely overlooked.

Get a legendary in WoW and tell me how easy it was to get. Also try to beat a heroic raid boss with no gear from normal mode raids or the justice/valor gear or the dungeon gear. Also you probably don't know what any of this means. So stop using WoW as a hate target for your uneducated insults.

your reply was pathetic and btw i have been workign for my gear the same as everyone else i have already my chest 1320 tomes , and neck and have about 200 tomes on char before i logged off ive doen almost 20 runs already on my scholar , on my dragoon before realising how much i dislike it i have 3 darklight for that class , so yes ive done it quite abit already, that being said i cba to do it anymore
Yes, grinding gear can be boring, but this is an MMO. Grinding is their bread and butter.

Perhaps you just need to stop worrying about keeping up with the Joneses. If higher level raids are important to you, put the effort into getting the gear that the others already have. Yes, it sucks when other people are off enjoying the later content, but they had to do just as many runs to get to that point.

Side note, I really hate when people complain about how unfair it is that they have to work full-time while others don't. Hate to break it to you, but a lot of people in this game work full-time jobs. I work full time and have a family, so my playtime is limited to funky off-hours, but you know, that's life. No, I won't have amazing gear anytime soon, but I'm working towards it slowly. If you can't handle that slow grind, maybe it's time to find something else you can enjoy in game, or don't sub as you have threatened. MMOs are not for everyone.

Thank you. I couldn't have said it any better myself (and apparently, judging by all the people attacking me, I didn't).

    /nod

I get that people want more options towards something, but people need to be realistic about the situation towards their target of interest. Not sure why people expect otherwise when they come to an MMORPG. It's like someone playing an FPS and complaining that it's so monotonous that they have to always be in 1st person. Hearing/reading the inevitable replies about how the MMORPG genre shouldn't be like that is just....
