My PC keeps turning off...please help

I am running all the current driver and have had no problems with game, until last night. During a CM run, my PC just shut off, i thought maybe it was a power surge, booted back up and played until maintenance (4.5 more hours). Today after maintenance, I've tried about 10 times to play, everytime, my PC runs the game fine for about 5-12 minutes and then shuts off. No overheating. Pristinely cleaned. Drivers up to date. Uninstalled and reinstalled game. Defragged. Tested against other games, skyrim, fallout new vegas, no problems. I have no idea what is up. But I know it has to be a compatibility problem with game. I really wanna play. But If i can't get this fixed, I'm gonna have to cancel. I have a 90 day sub about to charge on the 5th. Please help. Anyone with similar problems or PC knowledge. Or SE itself. I WANNA PLAY!

Sounds like you are overheating. if you have poor circulation, or a bad seat with your CPU to your MB this can happen. Or your power supply is failing or another component. Those are the only reasons I've ever seen for a pc just shutting off, and I've seen a lot of them.

This kind of error happened to me back then at GW2 launch. At beta it was perfectly fine then suddenly a few days after launch, PC start keeping shut down after several minutes of playing it. I'm sure the problem isn't within the game because I could play it fine previously. I asked Support guy over there replied me with canned message etc etc that I didn't read D: PC was less than 1 year, heck maybe 6 months-ish. Fidding around even reinstalling my windows doesn't help. Later on I figure out my Power Supply was defect (Tested it with my friend's unused power supply). Still had the warranty and got it replaced, and finally it worked again.

Your CPU is overheating, not your GPU. If it's not that, then it could be your PSU is at the end of its rope. It could either be your power supply doesn't have enough wattage to handle your GPU under load, or it's dying and not putting out enough power.

CPU overheating usually causes it/the driver to crash and reset, causing the screen to go black for a few seconds. It doesn't generally shut your PC down. CPU overheating, however definitely will cause a shutdown- it's a failsafe to prevent damage.

    ^^ THIS ^^

Had the same issues during the first couple of weeks between pre-release and release, and these are the upgrades/replacements I have done since Alpha, mind you, I even dualbox back in 1.x, and did it back in Alpha/beta as well. But yeah, this game does require a lot of power

    1. Added CPU cooling system, was getting up to 70-80C, now runs at mid 40s.
    2. Jacked up GFX fan control by 10C, so instead of the 100% fan at 80C, now set at 100% at 70C
    3. Due to #2, blown my 550W PSU and upgraded it to a 750W unit. Yeah, it fried my <1 yr PSU

Currently running fine, can play for hours and hours.
