Sorry for your troubles. I've been working on computers for a living for 15+ years, and I can honestly say I've never seen a program cause this directly, it was ALWAYS because of a failing component, or overheating, possibly due to said program taxing it. Did you build this pc? or was it a store bought one? if store bought it may be tough to swap the power supply, and those are generally pretty low wattage and can have difficulty running high end graphics cards. If I was a betting man I would bet on the PSU (power supply unit) it should say on it how many watts it is, can you tell us what it says? It should be at least 500w if you have a high end video card.

Contrary to what you may think, this probably is overheating. Mayhaps it's your power supply overheating, I had a similar problem once before where my power supply was inadequate to handle the parts I had installed and kept overheating. Have you recently upgraded some component on your computer?

the most recent upgrade i have made to the PC was the card, but it was a downgrade from an AMD card that was overheating due to this game. the card i have now is much smaller, efficient and takes less power. I also have been running that card since Aug 9th with no problem. So no changes. why would my power supply be overheating only in this game and nowhere else? that isnt sarcasm, btw.
He didnt get BSOD probly .
I have had it too , underclocked my graphic card ( not heat issues at all and no problems with computer) been searching all over...
It runs fine now after downclocking my videocard back to standard/factorysettings.... the videocard isnt the problem however.
I am pretty sure your PSU is the problem , because once i did some powersavings on my system, the problems were gone .. so i need a new PSU
P.S. it probly is PSU overheating indeed.
I know it is because when it shut down ,, and restarted computer inmediately it would shut down again ,waiting for a few minutes , i could boot normaly and not get powered down , untill after playing game for some time.
I haven't checked yet with adding an extra fan to the PSU , i probly buy a new PSU later , so i just play on more powerfriendly settings untill then .
