Try further underclocking that card and see if it shuts down. For the mean time while you wait. Try to do everything you can to reduce power consumption. Any extra HD's remove them, and RAM you don't absolutely need (Anything more than 8gb) remove. Underclock that vid card, and when gaming make sure no other programs are open causing load on the CPU. You can even try running a program like GameBooster to shut down any un needed system resources during game play to further reduce power consumption.

to clarify, i canceled the PSU when i foud out that wasnt the problem. Dont have the money to buy parts that arent needed. I got prime 95 and some more info. the system shuts down at 87 degrees. it is definitely a cooling problem. I did the thermal paste and reseat the heat sink. that didnt help. Im assuming that means i need another heat sink? how much do those cost? also i have a closed system water cooler, so i have no idea how to "upkeep" it. and no nothing has leaked. Any suggestions where to go from here? I have 0 funds to spend on anything right this second, so i am going to have to play on ps3 and share with gf for a while. which sucks, but i'll live. We like to play together. Ok lets start the links to heat sinks you trust ect coming. also, is there a way to make sure its the heat sink? or have we already figured that out with the tests?

I'm glad you're not spending your money man... if you look at the other thread about this you'll see that people bought new components but it didn't help. Over on the other thread we are convinced that it is a client issue... go take a look at the conversation and you'll see. People literally tried EVERYTHING to fix the problem but nothing has helped.

A moderator popped in 4 weeks ago to say they were looking into it... no word since. Who knows =P.

Ah. It looks like you have Corsair H60 AIO cooler. I also have one of their AIO cooler ( Corsair H100i http://i.imgur.com/oRiJejM.jpg ) and the coolant doesn't need to be refilled until many years later. ( done by corsair and not yourself )

Our Hydro Series CPU coolers are designed to be a closed-loop solution with no maintenance required at all. The units come pre-filled and feature proprietary hoses that virtually eliminate evaporation of water. The expected lifespan of the average unit is significantly longer than the warranty period.
It seems that the pump on your cooler isn't working properly - which is why you get ridiculous temp. You need to RMA your current cooler or buy a new heatsink. ( I would choose the latter because RMA process can take a long time )

Since you mentioned that money is an issue, I'd recommend getting this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835103099
It's cheap and performs very well for it's price point.

wanna hear something weird. ive been playing since that post. here are the tests i have found. Skyrim on ultra for 1 hour, never breaks 43 degrees. FF on borderless windowed mode, never breaks 42 degrees, unless i am in a sanctuary. then is starts climbing. it took the prime 95 9 tests of max stress to overheat it. takes about 15 min in a santuary tops, but it i am in a fate, dungeon, or just soloing out in the world, very rarely gets to 35. WTF? i know its the shit coding SE is using that is making our systems go nuts, i hope they fix it, untill then i will monitor until a definitive answer is given or a fix. and stay out of sanctuaries for extended amounts of time.

There is no reason he would need a complete new system unless maybe his water coolant bursted and soaked his MB while it was on.

If your CPU is still shutting down at 60c.. its not a thermal shut down. Thermal shutdows happen usually around 85c - 90c (You can find this exact number by checking your bois setup). Anything below c70 is running within normal operating parameters.

If its still happening when the CPU is at c60, than it is most likely the original issue we discussed.. and that would be PSU.

If your CPU is running at c60 or below I would say you don't really need to wait to use your PC.. as c60 will not cause harm. However.. if its not overheating and still shutting down, that doesn't sound like you can really use it anyway.

Just chill out and wait for that new PSU.. Hopefully it will fix all the problems. But seriously.. I would remove your water cooling unless you are up keeping it on a monthly basis, and just install some decent heatsink and fan setup.

The issue has nothing to do with FFXIV code. CPUs are made to work under full load if required. It just means that the cooler isn't working.

This is the same CPU (also a watercooler) and the user has the same problem with bad measurements coming out of the system.

There might not be anything you can do if you can't make the cooler work more efficiently.
