Personally, I could see it as boring if I just played the game alone and only did dungeons with randoms, but once enough of my LS mates hit roughly the same area of progression, we've had a blast running the usual dungeons. It was a tremendous change when the random pug element of the DF was taken out of the equation and we all knew each other and there was no anxiety over getting yelled at. In fact, I just completed my first AK run yesterday in nothing but AF *queue screeching violins*. We only wiped once on the first two bosses, and beat the final one in one go. (I was the only 'noob' in mostly AF, and I was the healer, though I did have 2 darklight pieces)

I can understand that a game shouldn't have to rely entirely on playing with friends you've made in-game to be entertaining, but the way it changes what many call a dull and boring game into something entertaining, I guess you could say... *sunglasses* Friendship is magic?

F.A.T.E. needs to go honestly, it's a horrible feature. It's neither fun or intuitive.

Can you explain to me in what way, shape or form crafting is unreasonable? ilv70 crafted gear with the correct melds beats out Darklight but obviously falls short of all iLv90 gear, which is fine and balanced. If HQing is your problem, maybe you just suck? I HQ every and anything with all NQ materials without any problem.

Looks like Square is going to have to add them F2P servers they were talking about. They won't add them soon but maybe 8 months to a year they will.

I always thought they should have fates that escalate. The more people that show up more trash mobs that show up to the point where say a named boss monster appears. So if only a few people show up then the difficulty level is not as high. This way they don't get zerged as badly.

Honestly, most MMOs made since WoW pretty much follow the same formula. Get to max level, get some gear, do end game content, get better gear, run out of stuff to do on one class, level another class, repeat. Not sure why people thought things would deviate much from this. People that rush through content because they feel they have to do it fast or be the first or whatever feel this impact much sooner than people who want to take their time and dabble with all the different things available to do in the game.

2.1 is adding a new dungeon, new raid, new difficulty levels for Primals, (I'm sure the appeal in doing this will wear off fast) Housing (the major gil/time sink for this patch) along with some other little things. People that play this game like a job will be complaining again in three weeks that they're bored while those who play less will be struggling to keep up with the current content. It's a never ending cycle.

So you've done one AK run and are trying to tell us that it's fun when playing with your friends? sure, maybe for the first 10 runs.. but not after 50+.

What I read in these threads: "I want 5 years worth of content in the game less than a month after launch"

When WoW launched it had 2 raids, Onyxia and Molten Core.

Level cap at launch for FFXI was 50 and the rank 6 Shadow Lord fight was it for "endgame". World bosses were there, but no one could kill them at level 50. It took almost a year for Zilart to come out with some semblance of endgame content.

SWTOR only had one operation available at launch.

It might sound like I'm defending them, and maybe I am in some way, but I don't think people realize how much time these things take. Developing new content doesn't happen overnight, and while it may show that MMO makers haven't learned that people will play for 100 hours a week and burn through the content, it doesn't mean that they need to specifically cater to the people with nothing better to do.

Rift was able to do very well for a year.
Rift had 8 leveling dungeons, 8 "endgame" dungeons that were just harder versions of the other 8, and one raid (Greenscale's Blight) at launch. This was in March, and the next piece of endgame that came out was one raid in September. A full 6 months with one endgame raid.

So basically what you are saying is, everyone wants to go play WoW because it has 11 years worth of content? If that is what people expect, why even bother developing a new game? You would spend 10 years developing content, release it all at once, and by that time, your game would be outdated and irrelevant. They have to start somewhere, and starting at the beginning is a good place to do it.
