For targeting on PS3 I recommend going into Character Configuration and tab over to Filter, then go down to Enable Customization. You can set it up so that holding L1 + triangle, square, circle or X will allow to you target different things.

For instance, I set it up so that L1 + Triangle targets enemies. L1 + Circle targets other players not in my party. L1 + X targets NPCs. L1 + Square targets mobs that are aggroing me. I don't worry about targeting players in party, because hitting up or down on the D pad will automatically do that regardless. The annoying thing is that right now the system recognizes summoned pets like Carby as an enemy, so even using L1 + Triangle I still have to sift through squirrels and eggis. They're supposed to be fixing that in an upcoming patch.

Thanks for that, it was getting irritating when I'm playing WHM in FATEs and trying to heal people. The cursor switches from me, to the monster, to whatever Carbuncle may be out, and back to me. It wouldn't target other players that were low on health, leaving me to sit there staring at them dying in awkward silence.

I've been trying to get that to work right. It seems to work briefly and then after a little while (like every time the mob I'm fighting dies) automatically revert to targeting everything. It's annoying to be in a crowded FATE, set it to target enemies so I can start fighting one, then as soon as it's killed (pretty quickly if there's lots of players and mobs) trying to select another mob but keep getting all the other players because it's reverted to "ALL" yet again.

I've also tried setting it based on whether my weapon is drawn, targeting enemies only then and everyone when it's sheathed, but that only works when first changing stance. Once the first mob dies, regardless of the fact that my weapon is still drawn because I'm still in combat, it goes back to its normal "ALL" setting.

Make sure you're not only enabling customization but disabling default at the top of the screen. If you leave both active you create a conflict with the targeting system like what you're describing.

I'm not sure what you mean. With the default at the top you mean the option "enable target cycling"? Because that one is useful to go straight targeting enemies when drowning (sp?) the weapon. Which is compatible with L1+Circle. Then when it is sheathed again it goes back to "all". Well, at least in my settings.

Instead can anyone explain me what the "Click Filter Target" does with the PS3? Is is a setting for people with also a mouse?

Excellent tips on targeting and setup. Anyone know how to get the camera in 3rd person chase mode? Im a lazy one handed autorun guy whom smokes and would like not to have to use both sticks all the time? Ive had a look but seem unable to find a lock to view (Seen the snap to target but thats not what I mean).

Any tips or good threads to read on consumables (Rasins etc) and whats worth adding to hotbars?

Personally I would remove all non combat stuff from the 2 hotbars on screen (sprint/teleport etc.) so you can get used to switching between your main and other hotbars. As you level up you'll quite quickly start to fill up the 16 slots on screen. As an ARC/SUM I've never found MP to be an issue so I wouldn't put ether on, but worth having hi-potions there to get you out of a tight spot.

    M' Kay,

Thats helped. Making or simpler and understanding what actions etc are on my hot bar improves my game. Thanks M Garrison M'kay ( South pakl fan too just always thought the shrink was weirder M'kay)

I assume the MP booste spell plays a bigger part at higher levels?

Now my level is higher people acknowledge me any tips on clans? I never been on a mmo mixed EU and USA servers?
