Hey guys,

I am Galen Swiftblade, and a member of Flare. As Xuron stated in his first post, Flare originally came about from a group of gamers who have experienced many tribulations and trials through various games to come to this point.

I started in Discworld the text based MUD, playing that for over 7 years honing my skill in the Sword, the Spear, and the Brush, dabbling into Pottery, Acrobatics, Writing, Linguistics, Sewing, Music, and many others. From there, I moved into Ragnarok, learning the patience of killing something for a .01% drop x4. Following my stint in the fields of card collecting I migrated to Eve Online, learning the intricacies of corporate espionage on 1 hand and selling veldspar on the other. Tiring of the endless space, I had a go at being a Mountain in that which was Warhammer. Standing shoulder to shoulder under the gates to stop the sea that was the forces of Destruction. Then, as many others have, I went into Aion, tackling the dredgion and seeing the craziness that is 300-man sieges.


But enough about our history, what can I say that would make people want to join us? In truth, there are many good Company's available, with many different philosophy's, cultures, and styles. I cannot tell you that we are the Company for you, but what I can do is tell you who and what we are.

If I had to use a single word, a single trait to describe the ideal that is Flare, then from my personal view it would be Steadfast. Flare has many decades of experience under its belt, and an intrinsic inability to admit defeat of any kind. I ran Titan over 130 times through duty finder, believing that the next random group would win it. Xuron did his first Vanya in 52%, believing that it would HQ. Herpy collected a full set of Relics, believing the relic quest to be no real obstacle. And Maple, going off to Coil without full darklight, believing in drops even after the 38th had no bard gear.

There is chatter on the Company channel, but we're not talkaholics. We support our comrades, but we're not going to hold their hand. We're friendly, but we're not your mother. We are experienced, but not elitist. We run content together, but we don't force anyone to play. We play in groups, but we believe in the strength of the individual.

We are Flare, a small group of players who fight together for common goals, but without restrictions or conditions. A lot of people use the phrase "Skill > Gear". I use the phrase "Personality > Skill".

Hi all, a quick update:

We currently have a number of people that are not able to make the GMT +10 runs, as such, we are looking for GMT +12 players that are willing to run BC earlier than our current raid time. Exact starting time can be discussed, experience not necessary.
