End-game Raiding

Okay I recently started playing this game and I decided to make a tank to rush to endgame in order to help my friends with their raids. My friends and I were talking later about raid lockouts and I was under the impression lockouts were done by character like most other mmos, but my friend swears that it is actually based off class. He isn't a 100% sure so I was looking for a definite answer. In all honesty if it is done by class I want to remake my character and if it is done by character there is no point because I will just have to make another char anyways.

once you unlock the dungeons on your first class, then switch to another they unlock automatically as you level up to the min req. for each dungeon.

there is no real raid lockout atm.

in the binding coil of bahamut ( the only real raid) you progress tho 5 turns.
once you beat a turn you cant go back with your charakter (class doesnt matter)
every week (sunday jp midnight) the timer resets and everyone start again with turn 1

all other content you can spam all the day w/o any lockouts
