Now this idea has been done in several games before and the one I would like to mention is Eden Eternal doing a very good job with this. Basically its a banquet or party that is started with a minimum # of players visiting your house and upon being in the banquet for a minimum time visitors / owner of the home will receive a specific kind of buff that last for a couple of hours although the buff is usually minimal it is seen more of a bonus with the main goal is sharing and showing your home to others, gathering friends and others and socializing. Some players who will run dungeons consecutively can also take advantage of this by using a battle buff before starting. The banquet is also capped at once a day per player.
Primary reason for the petition: As it is now, when housing come there will be 3 types of sides to this. First are the person who will trick out their houses (like me). Second are those who wont care about their own housing much but still enjoys or doesnt mind visiting others and lastly are the people who don't care at all. But as mentioned or hinted before there will be certain furniture's in FC housing that would give buff to visiting members such as EXP buff but then what about personal housing? Couldn't this be a way to entice other players to work on their houses and spread how wonderful housing would be to other players who are still on the fence?
The way it could work is the rarer the stuff you have in your home the higher the tier of banquet you could provide to your guest yielding better stats / % points.
Some sample Banquet buffs I have in mind:
xx% EXP for 2 hours
(Let's face it popping food every 30 mins for 3% does help but sometimes we forget). This can be either battle, craft, gather exp.
- xx stat for 2 hours / or can be yy amount of time depending on what is seen viable
stats can vary between increase defense from magic dmg, pdmg, raw str, inc crit rate etc.
(Like the ones found in food but to greater effect) Upon saying this when you think about it every DoH can somehow be a part of housing furniture making, WVR for curtains, GSM for gemstone pieces, CRP etc. except CUL.
Where does food come in the housing? Here in the player banquet. An idea would be CUL can make special kinds of food that can be a center piece in banquets which then upon interaction or just possible attendance / participation, guests and hosts would be treated to a food buff (pref. stat buff)
- xx% chance of dropping / obtaining HQ items, from either drops or gathers I know this can be placed on the xx stat one if its perception but what I mean is this can break the 15% barrier maybe even by a few % points.
That's it for now I had a few more ideas yesterday but its 3am and I can't think straight will update if new ideas pop up from my head or from suggestions in this thread.
In general Housing is a great idea in my opinion, as I have stated with the team exploiting the vastness of the wonderful world they created let's try to brainstorm and exploit this upcoming feature and unlock cool ideas to make it more enjoyable.
I know the post is messy I'm not really a forum person but here you go tall peoples.
I'd appreciate constructive criticism and or additional ideas from the communityLet's keep it healthies
