Get a Token!!!

Hey!

So im seeing a lot of threads of people saying their accounts got hacked....well....do you think it'll be a lot safer if you had a security token? And im not talking about the software/app token either...I mean a physical one...I have one and all i can say is im glad i did after seeing all these posts

Update: just so everyone is aware the point of this post is to let players know there are ways to enhance the security of your account...SE tried to address this issue and have given some pointers regarding these concerns

The only thread I've seen about someone with a token getting hacked was when the token was deactivated and it was hacked in the mean time. I've never seen a thread where someone who had an active token got hacked.

Can't really remember when it was, but think it was back during early access or close to it.

I was going to say...the physical token is a Citrix key similar to the one i use for work so unless they can physically obtain my serial number from it im sure im safe....I heard those with software/app tokens getting hacked but thats about it

It is possible to get hacked with security token, however that will require an intervention of a middleman with access to your pc while typing in token number

So far I've only seen two such threads, the first one was where the person removed the token and their account was hacked before they applied a new one. The second was a person who claimed that they had a security token added but it was later discovered that they hadn't.

As far as I'm aware the Security Token is still secure and hasn't been compromised.

I'd love to get a token, really I would. But SE is making that near impossible.

I've since lost the token from 1.0. After much run around, SE finally lifted the restriction so I could log in without one. However, it's still listed as registered in SE's account management. So when I tried to add my new token, it wants me to manually remove the old token. To do that, I need a one time password from the old token. Thus, I can't use a token at all.
