I think what he was trying to say was it will be ok there they just don't want a lot of traffic congestion with the servers I believe that's what he was trying to convey.
if they don't remove the restrictions from Legacy worlds and allow them to move to non Legacy congestion is exactly what they will get
their reasons might have seemed sound but they never were. there simply aren't enough 1.0 chars that fall into the category they used to make this decision to make it a good idea
their reasons were they didnt want people with maxed out chars who had millions of gil to dominate the economy. the issue with this is that there were maybe 10% of all 1.0 players who actually played enough to do this. so now the rest of us are getting punished for it. it is unfair of them to use only that criteria to lock ALL 1.0 players on Legacy worlds. even many of those players who did actually max out their chars didnt return for ARR so that makes it even less of a reason
the point is their reason for locking us on Legacy worlds is invalid and they need to rethink it

why do legacy players want to play on non-legacy servers?
because their friends do? why didnt your friends choose a legacy server? It is most likely because they wanted a fresh server with new characters. It was more important for both you and your friends to keep your character/play on a fresh shard THAN it was for you guys to play together anyway.
the restrictions were known beforehand, and many players deliberately chose servers because only new characters would play on them for the forseeable future, otherwise they could've started on a legacy server.
Ein rotäugiger Kunde betritt dein Geschäft.
Halb Engel, halb Todesgott.
Absolutely, because we had a choice from the start of phase 4 through to the 2-3 weeks post release, right? All the servers were available and the choice was absolutely free to be made. And we, with our nefarious plot, strategically chose the server we're on now.why do legacy players want to play on non-legacy servers?

Before launch, a few new players I know just wanted to be part of a fresh, new start. That seemed very understandable to me.
But now, speaking for the small group I'm in, we have the opposite situation. We have found friends on a legacy world and we've made plans to move our new characters there. The new world players are now into the higher levels so they don't mind the idea of other high-levels. (It's not much different than many new worlds now, and the newness has worn off.) So I'm also moving my characters to that other legacy world, too. Everyone is happy.
The wrinkle is that currently legacy worlds in the NA/EU data center are some of the most congested worlds already. (Most appear at the bottom of the worlds list during both EU and NA prime times.) If people can't move off, and others can freely move on, then the current legacy worlds could see the return of very long queues, new character creation restrictions, even 1017s. I wonder how many people above server maximum SE will allow before they close the world to transfers. Or would SE would consider opening a new legacy world to relieve congestion. If they do it at the last minute, people won't be able to plan and move for free.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I made a character on a legacy server at the start of 2.0. Is it true that I will not be able to transfer off of that server onto a new 2.0 server?
Indeed. You cannot transfer from a Legacy Server to a new server under any circumstance.
By the time they started playing they was not able to make a character on my server and now they are 30+ with time into the characters in them, but they only play about 3-4 hours, so i'm not asking them to start over and they wont ask me to do the same.why do legacy players want to play on non-legacy servers?
