I'd hope they have something planned, since they didn't say we couldn't have items on the retainers, just none listed on the market boards.

I had to re-hire and re-name them, but they kept items. I assume they'll do the same thing, I'm just secretly sad I'll have to rename my retainers...not that anyone will ever actually get to see their names. (*crosses fingers for having them in player housing*)

Ah alrighty, yea that would be nice, for people to see my retainers running about once we get our houses eventually :P

They better make more legacy servers!!!!! cause there all the same so what benefit are we getting after years of service. How about lock us in a shitty ass world full of WOW players who finally found another game easy enough for them. I have to have 6 friends transfer to me and lose their friends because I... 1 character cannot transfer to them. Shameful... SE I would have started a character with my friends at the beginning had I known. The game is only decent to begin with that's why I wanted my friends with me.

This sucks! I accidentally got put onto an EU Legacy server when I was able to transfer worlds from 1.0 to 2.0. I swear to god it never said it was EU, and now I'm suckered for their own fault. The fact that I can't play with my friends, let alone the horrible lag, is enough to make me "actually" post. I don't care if NONE of my gil gets transferred, I just want to play. I'll be DOUBLY pissed if, when they do allow us to transfer, I still have to PAY for it.

Comments like these truly make me laugh. You seriously expect people (and SE) to believe that it was "Square Enix's fault" that you got put into a EU server? Seriously? Wow. I guess out of the hundreds of thousands of people playing for some reason your game did not display the letters EU near the server. Give me a break. Don't blame SE for your stupidity. Face it, you're screwed and it's of your own accord. Makes me laugh how people complain to SE when they screwed themselves. I came back to the game at launch for early access, and by that point, the damage had already been done. SE had stuck my 1.0 character on a random JAP Aegis server, even though I am clearly an EU player, signing on from an EU region, and there wasn't a damn thing I could do about it.

That wasn't my stupidity. It's SE's. Plain and simple. I didn't screw myself. I re-installed FFXIV, and FOUND my character on Aegis. Already done.
Before you say we had the opportunity to World Transfer during the early beta stages', I was neither around nor aware that this was happening at the time.

People like myself and HaloAvon are simply stuck. We are where we are by no CHOICE of our own, and we were looking forward to being able to move to play with our friends. Now we are being told we can't, and no actual reason has been given either. Economically, there wouldn't be any drastic fluctuation, as they are limiting the amount of gil people can transfer with their characters. No 1.0 character has an advantage over a 2.0, as many 2.0 characters are now higher levels than those of us who played 1.0.

It's not unreasonable to register our disappointment at this decision, and ask for an explanation! Don't flame us because you got what you want, and we haven't.

What POSSIBLE reason could be given for the decision not to let 1.0 characters move to non-legacy servers? The split is now largely redundant, as there are many multiple-Lv50-job levelled characters on non-legacy servers.

I for one am a 1.0 player stuck on a legacy server. My character has much lower job levels than most of my friends who are on a non-legacy server. This decision just boggles my mind.

Please could someone shed some light for me on why this decision has been made? It is extremely disappointing, because it means I STILL cannot play with my friends. It is unfair to ask a whole LS to world transfer to a legacy server just for me, so I’m left with only one option to go to them. At the moment I’m totally stuck on my own.

EDIT: The only good thing is that I'll finally be able to get off the random JAP Aegis server that SE dumped my character on for some reason. I'm an EU player dumbasses! Oh, and whats with the bullcrap about Aegis not being a highly populated world? On a Saturday or Sunday morning I sometimes STILL have to wait 2+ hours to log on because the world is full.

EDIT: Wait... won't moving from Aegis to an EU/NA server use up my free transfer? So... i'm gonna be forced to pay for my move to the server with my friends on it when they finally allow unrestricted movement?

Why are ppl paying so much attention to what others have done and accomplished. I'm a legacy player and I don't care if no one plays with me. They made this game so that if I want I can go solo all the way through. Duty Finder is a plus. If I switched servers I'd do it by creating another character. I mean they allow 40 characters to be created yet most ppl are stuck on their one character. It's sad. Legacy players from 1.0 pride themselves on the fact they have level 50 characters but won't create another character. If you are so good at this game do it again. lmao. I'm focusing on my crafting classes so that if I create another character I can create gear sets for it. To me there should be a bunch of low level legacy players with HQ gear but I've seen absolutely none.

Me too! i want my lalafell slaves "err i mean retainers" in my house ^^
