I explain it here: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ht-PS3-Version
TL'DR PS3 gives 30 free days, PC gives 30 free days, together 60 free days. Can't xfer if you have free days left.
Why do people use their economic past to justify their present concerns? I paid for FFXI for 11 years also. I don't feel like they should cater to me just because I paid them like everyone else in the game.
Regardless, clearly legacy > new world transfers would screw up the economy, and clearly people would take advantage of it. End of story. It may suck for you, but it's better for everyone else.
Only 3m gil is allowed to be transferred. Blanket statement. Full stop.
Can't wait to see what restrictions are in place if they ever allow Legacy to transfer off to a non-Legacy server.
Not to mention we will probably end up having to pay for it.

I wonder how accurate and reasonable this argument is. Sounds like you are an expert in game economy.

Yea, because characters with a maximum of 5 mil gil will really screw up the economy, when I'm sure they have people with more gil on the non-Legacy servers. And don't forget the people who buy/sell gil that already had the economy in a bad state. Why do people use their economic past to justify their present concerns? I paid for FFXI for 11 years also. This is just a stupid excuse to limit people, especially when some people were forced to choose those servers to begin with. It's not anyone's fault that the launch was so messed up that we all got split apart (those wanting to play together) and now they can not change servers because of some stupid economy excuse. RMTs and people pore stuff on the market for like 1gil making it hard to get any kind of money. RMTs teleport to monsters to in order to control a certain supply. They are messing up the economy, not the players that want to play with their Friend. I'm telling you right now FFXIV will start to loose a lot of player base for that stupid decision.
"Furthermore, characters can only transfer 3 million gil, while retainers can only transfer 1 million gil. Please be aware that excess gil will be lost." A char can only have 2 retainers so, 3 mil, + 2mil from retainers = max 5mil.

I have 1 lvl 50 job and my second job is getting close to 47, and I barely ever used the auction house system for items (got them from quests) and the amount of gil I gain from quests is sufficient for me to function at this point (teleporting, choco porting etc).RMTs and people pore stuff on the market for like 1gil making it hard to get any kind of money. So my question is, for those people who worry that the legacy players would impact the economy, are they the ones who themselves possess a great amount of gil and high ranks in crafting? Because that's the only way I see how one can fear the possible "impact" of legacy players transfering into their servers...

+1. Seriously, if I go from a Legacy world to a Non-Legacy onewith a lot of gil and items, what havoc can really I cause for the economy?
- Undercut everyone with the items I have? Existing chars can already do that.
- Sell those items for high amounts? Everyone would buy the cheapest copies first.
- Buy the 100g items and sell them for 10,000g and be an evil monopolizer? Except for certain items, anyone can quickly get new ones and sell them for 100g again.
- Don't even get me started about the people that say that Legacy characters can hurt the market beyond buying and selling like the above examples. I don't know how people think that their Duty Finder drops are going to magically get taken by the Legacy character's Need Lot+1 ability.

Wrong If there was tighter limits for Legacy Characters then how would this effect a new servers economy. Why do people use their economic past to justify their present concerns? 1.) Gil limit is 3mil make it a 1mil, Retainer cap is 1mil make it 500k
2.) Don't allow any gear that isn't spirit bonded or unique (so a rich Legacy player cant buy 100 HQ ilvl70 items and then sell them for 5-10xs what they paid) Or w/e item.
3.) No Materials for crafting, No Food, And No Materia.
And a Legacy Characters Crafts and levels have nothing to do with the economy because anyone can roll on a new server and get 50 anything in a matter of days.
Hi there,
Thank you for updating the lodestone information.
There is one question that I would like to ask, will our current quest(s) progress be carried over as well? For example, if I am on the step to kill Ifrit on Hard mode for my relic quest will that be carried over as well or would I have to start over from scratch?
