I’m happy to announce that the World Transfer Service will become available on October 15.

We are currently performing our final testing on the service in preparation for its launch, and as long as no major issues are discovered between now and tomorrow night, we will be launching the service according to schedule. In the event that an issue is discovered, there is a possibility we push it back a couple of days, so we appreciate your understanding if this were to happen.

We'll be announcing more details on the Lodestone very soon, but I wanted to give you all a heads up!

What time PDT (Pacific Daylight Time) on October 15? Anybody? Bueller?

I was told personally on the phone by SE customer service at launch that transfers would be available by September 15.

MANY MANY NA legacy players have been stranded on Japanese legacy servers and this transfer is a god-send (most legacy players did not participate in beta 3.0 and thus missed the tiny June 21-July 15 transfer window they offered at that time).

It's OCT15 5 PM - OCT21 5 PM Japan time.
I get confused with PST and PDT, I don't know if it's 0 AM or 1 AM your time.

Oh well, not unexpected by SE I suppose. Guess my guilds accounts go to sleep until they lift the Legacy to New ban. Enjoy the cluster f this is going to create! :/

Back in 2011(?), after reading posts by SE reps, we generally assumed it would be 6 months after launch, to let the economy of new worlds establish. We're still 4 months away from that assumption, fyi.

A JP rep clarification (unofficial translation, last white quote box in that message) seemed to indicate it would be starting after the all or regional worlds maintenance downtime on Oct 15 (JP timezone), but that maintenance has yet to be scheduled.

I'm in the same boat as you but if they don't let legacy people transfer I'll be quitting. I've want to play with all my friends that couldn't make characters on Hyperion since launch. If I'm stuck here much longer I'm done.

Legacy cannot transfer for like a year to the new servers they said a very long time ago. It was not a secret if you want to play with your friends on the new non legacy servers you need to make a new character.
