Why are people who chose a Legacy world, who are NOT legacy(1.0) characters being punished by not being able to transfer OFF their legacy server to a Non-Legacy server?

Yea, because characters with a maximum of 5 mil gil will really screw up the economy, when I'm sure they have people with more gil on the non-Legacy servers. And don't forget the people who buy/sell gil that already had the economy in a bad state.Why do people use their economic past to justify their present concerns? I paid for FFXI for 11 years also. I don't feel like they should cater to me just because I paid them like everyone else in the game.
Regardless, clearly legacy > new world transfers would screw up the economy, and clearly people would take advantage of it. End of story. It may suck for you, but it's better for everyone else.
This is just a stupid excuse to limit people, especially when some people were forced to choose those servers to begin with. It's not anyone's fault that the launch was so messed up that we all got split apart (those wanting to play together) and now they can not change servers because of some stupid economy excuse. RMTs and people pore stuff on the market for like 1gil making it hard to get any kind of money. RMTs teleport to monsters to in order to control a certain supply. They are messing up the economy, not the players that want to play with their Friend. I'm telling you right now FFXIV will start to loose a lot of player base for that stupid decision.
"Furthermore, characters can only transfer 3 million gil, while retainers can only transfer 1 million gil. Please be aware that excess gil will be lost." A char can only have 2 retainers so, 3 mil, + 2mil from retainers = max 5mil.
Transferrable Current World Destination World
○ Non-Legacy World -> Legacy World
○ Legacy World -> Legacy World
× Legacy World -> Non-Legacy World
This has me worried. Legacy servers already have high populations. Why not put bigger economic restrictions on Legacy -> Non-Legacy worlds?
I have friends moving from non-legacy worlds to mine because I cant make the move. I have a feeling lots of other players are going to be doing this too.

I explain it here: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ht-PS3-Version
TL'DR PS3 gives 30 free days, PC gives 30 free days, together 60 free days. Can't xfer if you have free days left.
My sub start mid of this time frame, wonder if I even get on this free transfer...
Even those who get to do this are getting screwed really. We lose up to maybe a week of game time that we paid for? I mean yea I could log in, screw up my account, and then take a month to try to fix that problem, woo. They should have done this during the free trial/extended period, not forbid it from those still on it.Once you begin the World transfer process, you cannot create new characters or log into the game until the transfer is complete. A large number of players are expected to make use of the World Transfer Service during this free period. As a result, transfers may require several days before processing is complete.
Oh, and the real kicker in their disclaimer
I can see this going real well.Please note that the Square Enix Support Center cannot assist with certain problems if more than one week has passed since using this service.
I have 1 lvl 50 job and my second job is getting close to 47, and I barely ever used the auction house system for items (got them from quests) and the amount of gil I gain from quests is sufficient for me to function at this point (teleporting, choco porting etc).RMTs and people pore stuff on the market for like 1gil making it hard to get any kind of money. RMTs teleport to monsters to in order to control a certain supply. They are messing up the economy, not the players that want to play with their Friend. I'm telling you right now FFXIV will start to loose a lot of player base for that stupid decision.
So my question is, for those people who worry that the legacy players would impact the economy, are they the ones who themselves possess a great amount of gil and high ranks in crafting? Because that's the only way I see how one can fear the possible "impact" of legacy players transfering into their servers...
There's also the case of the v1 customers who bought a PS3 version. If they registered it before their 14 days from v1 were used up, that would extend their free period to October 17 (Sept 10 + 7 days + 30 days), which is 2 days after transfers begin, but still in the free transfers period. It might get messier if they paid on Sept 17 then bought and registered a PS3 version some time after that. They would now both have started paying an ARR subscription and also be under the PS3's 30-day trial period which might not start for many months (assuming they paid 90 days).
Wow, so if I don't pay for a month someone can steal my characters name? D:Also, please note that if there is a character on the destination World with the same name as you, that person will have priority for keeping the name. However, in the future we will be making a change to this so the player who is active will have priority. We'll be making an announcement on this when the change occurs.
Please define "active"??
