I need server transfer now!

Phew, after Duke Nukem Forever came out, I was at a loss to the next thing I could make fun of for myriad years for never coming out.

Thankfully Final Fantasy XIV server transfers look poised and ready to take up that mantle.

Very soon now Square will be able to announce the date on which they'll announce the date of the server transfer. Look forward to it.

Their handling of transfers is really quite pathetic. Most modern games have transfers rdy on or immediately near launch.

I have played XI from launch. Came to XIV upon launch with my linkshell. It was a hard time..with many leaving going back to XI because this one was such a flop. A large group of us stayed as it got much better. Fast forward to now. I have friends that want to come back and new players that i have gotten to play in total about 15 of us....now spread across 4 different servers making it impossible for us to play together.

There was discussion last night on team speak about some of them quitting because we cant play together and it just isint fun anymore and the main reason why alot come back was just for that...to play together.

I normally don't post on these forums, regardless of my status of literally being here from day 1 and KNOWING what goes into the MMO and what to expect from Squeenix previously. But i felt compelled to because this has to be the single worst thing right now being detrimental to this MMO, its so hard, and disheartening not to be able to play with linkshell family and friends from past FFs or even this one, and there be no way to fix it. Last month would have been an OK time to do it. Now its just getting annoying and disheartening.

I wont even bring up the friends on non legacy serves that we cant go to their server. I mean im not even sure i understand it...when i played XI there was already JP players much higher than i was and it caused no issues and look how long that game lasted and how much monies that game made!

I miss my friends, and i want to be able to play with my other friends who just started and to play without uprooting a bunch of players and begging them to join my server as well. But all i can say is this guys. I have seen this before from this company, despite the love of the game your voices are not going to make a difference and you just have to play the waiting game, and hope it all goes well. So sit tight. This is Business as usual here guys. For over a decade!

The game is on track to be fun again. But here is to hoping server transfers are sooner rather than later. For the sake of subscription, fun, and bringing back the bonds to strengthen the community again.

Actually for what its worth the JPs controlled the in game economy for literally almost a year after the NA launch. I have no problem with legacy not going to non legacy servers at the moment, if friends have people they know on a legacy server they can head there barring congestion.

The problem we have is our group of friends from XI all intended to go to a fresh server and got splintered between other fresh servers after they waited a week and couldn't make a character so they started somewhere else to try to keep up because SE said server transfers would happen in September. Now a month and a half later we still can't play together. I've made alts on their servers just so I can say hi and try to help with any info they might lack not having the support base of friends around. Its completely ridiculous that this has not opened up yet. It's fing absurd that they can't even come up with a damn date.

to liqwidram above me: Tell that to my friends still waiting on other servers, or the friends who just gave up and cancelled because the launch was such a mess, or the people who own 1.0 that I know from XI that have not even bothered playing because they don't trust SE. Seriously, its a history of failures and delays you can't simply brush off anymore, its costing them subs at this point. And it really should not be that complicated to get going. Who cares about new content when people are just waiting to play the current content with their friends and keep getting brushed back. It's well beyond the point of the consumer needing to be patient. Some of us have been patient with this game for over a year now...

Here is the deal, free transfer will not happen till ALL members who get free play start paying. Which means we are not getting any transfer at least after October 20th - by then all accounts that are started at launch will already paid for their first month. Otherwise if it happens mid Sept, everyone will transfer to the servers they wanted, finish the game by end of free 30 days, and pretty much quit till patch 2.1 or 2.2

I mean, let's be honest here, there are not much to do once you hit level 50, grind grind grind grind till your eyes bleed out. I wish they have more variety of endgame dungeons. It's rather sad considering lvl 1-50 are amazing journey and very well done quests + story progression. The patch is not coming till Nov (translation end of Nov or early Dec - so that they can stretch out two more payments out of everyone). That patch better be really good or more people will just stop playing after patch 2.1 hit and consume all the contents in a week.

I seriously doubt people will pay to play a game that they cannot hang with their friends on. It's a nice game and all, but my trial ends in on the 20th and my subscription is already marked not to renew, like others have posted here. People are not going to pay for a game that's unplayable with their friends. I'll be honest, I'm enjoying GTA 5 and have no reason to renew a sub here until servers transfers are implemented.
