A few hi-potions wouldn't go badly. You may already have some--it's a fairly common quest reward. They won't save you if you're consistently failing: it has a one-minute cooldown, but it can bail you out of a tough spot. Check your gear; up-to-date gear is always important is preventing damage. Don't forget to pick up cross skills from CNJ. Cure and Protect are very useful buttons to have on your hotbar. If necessary, try adding a few more levels. The fight is capped at 34, so you can level up that much further and take those levels into the fight.

In this battle, it helps to remember the old Shadowrunners' cry: "Geek the mages first!". Take out the healers first, then the thaumaturges. Be aware that they respawn so you'll need to pick them up again when they reappear.

But if you're dying quickly, I suspect your problem is more basic: you're not avoiding the AoE attacks. FFXIV likes to throw enemies at you that have devastating but avoidable area of effect attacks. The area affected will be announced by a red outline. You must get out of that area as soon as it appears. This is a basic skill in this game and unless you can master it you're not going to get very far.
