Pet Hotbar Will Not Go Away

Time: 6:30 am Sep, 29, 2013 (but bug is constant)
    Frequency: constant
    World name: Phoenix
    Character name: Mariwanna Kushi
    Race: Miqo'te
    NPC name: N/A
    Monster name: N/A
Class/Level: Arcanist, 22 (probably higher by the time we resolve this)
    Party or solo: solo
    In-game time: all
    Area and coordinates: all
    Steps:
    1. I have unchecked the box in options that says use pet hotbar.
    2. Whenever I summon a carbuncle, the hotbar still appears.
    3. I have repeated the process of going into options, then checking and unchecking the box and then hitting apply, but this makes no difference, the pet hotbar still appears every time. I have also restarted the game many times. I do not want or need this pet hotbar, please help me get rid of it. Thank you in advance.

I realize this may not be helpful to you, ubt unless you bind its actions to the cross hotbar or other hotbar, you really do need the pet bar to play the pet jobs effectively. Manual control is essential to getting the most out of certain abilities, such as Garuda's Contagion and scholar fariy's buffs. If you let your pet just do its own thing all the time, there will be situations where you're putting your party at risk (especially in CM/Pare runs)

It's not so important early on, but you'll need it later.

I really don't see how my system specs or internet connection have anything to do with the problem. That is the only reason that I didn't include them in my first post.

Thank you for this useful information. I will just make sure to bind all these necessary skills to my other hotbar. I am very particular about the order I want the buttons to be on the bar, so I very well may create my own petbar eventually; it just kills me not being able to change the order that they appear on the bar. I want the first button to be "Sic," not withdrawal or whatever is happens to be on the preset petbar. It just makes no sense to me.

There's one other thing you need to be aware of- the pet bar is also used to operate the siege weapons in Castrum Meridianum and I'm not sure if it's currently possible to bind the cannonfire ability to another hotbar slot.

Oh gee, that is very weird. Also something I never would have known had you not prepared me. Thanks once again for this useful knowledge. It looks like there is no way to get my petbar to disappear anyway, so there is no need for concern! I will definitely have it out when I am playing with my Arcanist. But how do classes that don't have pets get the petbar out in order to fire these siege weapons? I suppose it just pops out when they are near? That is very interesting indeed ...
