    NM Gear should be redone.

My main beefs with gear in this game are the Templar/Vintage Haubergeons and the Kokooroon/Mosshorn/Vintage Scalemails. I know it goes further than that, but I don't feel like getting into Bliaud/Divining Hat VS Harle debate, or why the Conq. Elmo > Silver Tricorne.

I realize that all games have certain pieces of equipment that last a long time. All I'm saying is that at this point in the game, those who have access to higher level content should be awarded appropriately.

I want to know why a common item like a Vintage Haubergeon has better stats then the Templar Haubergeon, an item that has a VERY low drop rate.

There is literally no incentive to use a Templar Haubergeon aside from bragging rights or looking cool. Even the the headpiece is junk.

My other complaint comes from a new item, the Kokooroon Scale Mail. A Rank 30 body piece, it arguably eliminates the need to use ANY other piece of armor higher that it as far as damage dealing goes, because of its ridiculous buffs. Suddenly, the Mosshorn Scale Mail some of my LS members slaved to earn is now useless.

I don't know if this is basically an extension of the Hardcore VS Casual debate, but if it is, it seems almost unfair that the supposed "hardcore" players get rewarded less for doing more, whereas "casuals" can go out, kill an NM a few times, and get some instantly awesome gear.

I'm all for instant gratification. That's what keeps the game interesting.

But what about the people who got to 50 as fast as they could, slaved away on the NMs like Dodore, Elder Mosshorn, and Great Buffalo, and then slaved even more to rank up the crafts to actually make their new toys? Why are their accomplishments being undermined?

EDIT: I realize that Faction NMs aren't all that hard. They're actually a joke. And so are the roaming NMs ever since that last patch. But still, the first time around, NMs used to be tough.

Also, I avoided mage gear because how mages work in general in this game are just... I can't even begin to explain.

Because like so many other things about FFXIV the itemization is FUBAR.

I have 8 crafts at 50. All I did was watch T.V. and spam standard for easy mode synths. Enjoy leveling those crafts in 1.19 and beyond everyone!

I suppose that's another thread on its own... I wish gear/stats played a bigger role in character progression.

I definitely agree that the Faction NM drops are less than perfect, the only Templars piece I am remotely interested in is the feet, but I have to say as my Lancer nears level 47 I'm still shooting for Mosshorn Scale Mail > Kokoroons (if we ever get him to drop his damn horn), the defensive stats are way better as is the Strength modifier. I also put on my Vintage Scale Mail as soon as I hit Rank 41.

To be honest I though you were going to complain about the fact that Archer (with the exception of Venerer's) and Pugalist pretty much got the short straw with the rank 25/35 NM drops in the recent update but I totally agree the Templars Set is disappointing and very herd to obtain.

Ionno meng. With my MRD46, I seemed to be doing consistently more damage with the Kokoo than I did with my Vintage OR Mosshorn. Same with my Conq. Elmo and my Tricorne.

And I thought PUG got some gnarly body piece?

I kinda agree, faction and hnm drops are kind of disappointing stat-wise.
BUT, mid-level nm aren't easy at all, at 30-40, alas the level they are aimed. Obliusly if you zerg it with 5 50 they appear too easy. And since they aren't 100% drop, the quality of the items is hightly justified. Instead a gimp, i would rather see a stat upgrade on craftable items

The class unique weapons not withstanding.

PUG and ARC can use Eternal Shade (r25) and Engineer's Leggings (r35) and ARC can also use Venerer's Gloves (r35).

MRD, LNC & GLA can use Paladin's Trousers, Engineer's Leggings, Conquistador Elmo, Kokoroon's Darkshell Mail (all r35) & Eternal Shade (r25).

    I thought it was a little one-sided.

    Dear OP

your arguments would have made sense pre-Yoshi days, but I'm sorry to say this is the world we live in now.

    Get with the times, yo.

We like our mobs to stand still and have no personality, we like to have no player-to-player collision detectionz, we like to have aggro indicators all up in yo grillz bro, and we like to have gear that make no sense.
