if you wernt in a party do you heal yourslef to fight? no, so therefor you would of gotten credit by blasting away instead of healing.
but in a party you heal to fight.

your party you were in sucked, they didn't scratch behemoth.

ive shown up to fates 10secs before they are done, and my party is there killing, i get full exp reward. w/o touching the mobs or boss AT ALL.
so therefore this same thing will happen in behemoth...

be a selfish whm, join no party, blast away, bam full credit.
join a party then you have to reley on them to do enough damage to get credit as a party.

the requirement as solo player is less damage to the boss for reward.

There appears to be an enmity component to FATEs. You have to produce enough enmity to be noticed by a mob. As a healer, this means overhealing. Not just topping off, but overcuring. You need to be able to produce as much enmity as a DD in a fight, or more. Raising also seems to produce enmity. My sister does this on Odin/Behemoth, and it at least seems to help her get silver. Overheal people who have enmity from the big guys, and raise people when you can and heal 'em up.

It is horrible that this is this way. Supposedly for 2.1, SE will be adjusting things for Odin/Behemoth to make them work better.

Even then I did overheal and I even did Medica2 a fair bit, just for increased healing etc to try and get higher, I raised people I pretty much did everything and i was still gimped on it..

The same thing happened today. I was doing a fate on my whm, healing the tanks, keeping the mob with dots, stoneskin etc, only got the fate completed message, with no increase in seals etc. I think it might be a bug with the way our contributions are tracked. It's registering the dps but not the healing.

FATE rewards are decided by the amount of enmity generated by you and your party during the FATE, it is also proportional to the total amount of enmity generated by everyone present in the FATE. It is also graded a lot more strict in special HNM-style FATE.
The more people are there (and in Behemoth, there are hundreds) and the rarer the FATE, the harder you have to work to get graded.

It is not the games fault you do not understand the mechanics.

There actually seems to be a bug around in fates where you get nothing but fate completed. Yesterday I claimed a NM fate, was in a party, and did as much damage as I usually do for gold. Got nothing but kill exp.

This, if you want gold as a tank slot Flash and spam it until you run out of mana. This will get you gold in any fate.

to OP, I have quite a few encounters wherr I got the fate complete message but didnt see anything exp/gold/seal show up on my log, but in actual fact i did get them; sometimes, the text comes up up aftet i kill a monster, or after another fate. seems like the chatlog is bugged.

Atleast you got to see Behemoth!!! I did Behemoth a few days ago as my 45 WHM and he never rendered for me. I raised like 20+ people, regened some people fighting and did a few stoneskins to a few lvl 50 PLD's and i got nothing as well. So i never even got to see Behemoth once. The whole 10 minutes i saw random players and their chocobo companion, but i couldn't see what everyone was casting on or swinging @. Wonderful Job SE. Thankfully i could see other players and their chocobos, because that's what i go to fates for.....

Either way, as a WHM at the moment, once i get my Summoner or another dps to 50, i wont be doing odin/behemoth as a healer, or any fate at level 50 to be honest, just so much easier to get gold with a dps class, although for some fates holy spam works nicely, but 1. for odin doing that will get you hated and 2. behemoth if your close enough to holy, your probably dead already.
