[Suggestion] Rage/Desperation mode for Notorious Monsters or Quest Bosses + music

I think all NMs should have a rage mode, complete with music change when their HP gets low. Maybe an aura or different animation during the mode too (or glowing eyes).

    Think of it like this:

    Normal battle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4FpT...eature=related
    Desperation mode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxA5ElDNqUA

Really brings out the feeling that you have to hurry and put and end to the fight. ( I know those themes are from FF 4 Heroes of light, but those best convey what feeling i'd like them to evoke).

Another good example is the way dynamic music is handled in Skies of Arcadia, or even the recent Pokemon Black/White version games.

This would serve to not only increase the challenge of facing a boss or notorious monster for parties, but would also increase the amount of strategy or tactics needed before taking down the enemy. You would have to plan for whatever increased danger, whether an invulnerability to physical/magical attacks, increased evasion, increased counter attacks, or a totally different move set, and utilize various abilities to win the battle.

Is 30 minutes abit long for the current high rank NMs? I heard some say the fights are kinda easy/dont really take much thought (havent fought one myself, so I cant comment), so maybe make the rage mode timer a bit shorter?

Well if they go into rage mode there is 0% of survival. lol They hit you for 9999. If you want a different kind of 'rage' where they get more tough, I guess I could see that as a possibility, but right now if you let them hit rage, you die. End of story. lol

I just want a different track for HNMs, dungeons, and dungeon bosses altogether.

Maybe the track could speed up when it gets closer to enrage timer?

Wow. lol yeah, thats a little too hard. Yeah I just want them to get tougher or change up tactics/moves used, not just all out doom your party.

On the dungeon battle music, I think its different than the standard region battle theme for the area, but its still something that we hear alot since its usually the guildleve battle music.

Yeah if it goes into rage mode you have about 4 seconds to kill it before it regenerates enough HP to wipe your party with 9999's.

    Music could switch to this:

I would like to ask if any of you have played Monster Hunter Tri for the Wii. It is one of the best games for the Wii, after the 2 hour tutorial and you start hunting monsters. I have always dreamed of a game in which you could control your character so well and feel like you are actually fighting the monsters instead of just clicking buttons. You need to watch for signs of how the monster acts, twitches, flies, etc to second-guess if or what the enemy will attack with.

Aside from just being an awesome game, I brought it up with a reason. It offers something that you want, and is not in line of the hard enrage timer that seems to be popping up in here. The monsters in the game all have enraged modes. When they go into this mode (which is often, but varies with several factors such as %health or hunger of the monster) the attacks can change or the monster may start flying making it hard to whack it on the head. The key feature here though is that for all of them, when they are enraged they attack more often and hit harder than before. In that game it is much easier to dodge attacks, so when they are enraged for some of the lower level enemies you can focus on dodging/blocking, but on the higher ranked ones you don't have enough time to stand around.

This method breaks up the game's pace quite a bit, which in turn makes the battles more engaging and more fun while not being boring. The largest hurdle that this game has though to being more interactive in real-time is that all the servers are located in one place. How to deal create functional content with varied (uncertain routing lengths) latency is quite a challenge.

    Edit:

I forgot to include that on most of the monsters the enraged period would come and go. Either by a timer, or the monster ate something or put to sleep, etc.

I wouldnt complain if some similar Monster Hunter elements showed up. Or make Archer arrows/ elemental spells have different effects on certain monsters...like how back in the day certain FF monsters would have powerful counter attacks when hit with a certain element, or defenses would disappear.
