Multiple problems now... (Black screen/no sound)

Ok so I just keep getting one problem after the next and i cant seem to fix it

First off Ive been playing since launch on the same tv with no problems. Today I unhooked my ps3 and moved it to a different tv but when when i tried to play i just got a black screen at the login screen. I can hear the sounds but i cant see anything. Ive seen people talking about the java script and stuff but all those things are on so idk why im getting a black screen.

Second I moved my ps3 back to the original tv ive been playing on and now i have no sound in game. I get through the login screen and stuff and and i can hear the ff music playing while logging in, up to the point where the start screen loads and i choose my character. So basically after I have sound until I log in then I have nothing from the start screen on, silence. I tried other games and stuff on it and they all have sound, just not in game ff14.

So if anyone has any ideas on how i can fix either of these that would be great. (Also it seems everyone just "logs out and logs back in and its normal" but trust me, Ive powered down and restarted 100 times, it doesnt work)

I had similar issue when switching TVs. Sound on login screen, no sound afterwards. Under PS3 settings, re-setup audio.

yeah.. would run into this with other games when switching the HDMI between my TV and PC monitor (so we could watch TV while I played on PS3). Would have to "re-synch" audio/visual each time from the system crossbar.

Ok thanks, im guessing that worked for you? What exactly did you "re-setup"? What did you change?

Honestly it just doesnt make any sense to me that I would have sound before i login and changing something back in the xmb would fix my sound problems after that... But ill do anything

Settings -> Audio Output Settings -> HDMI -> Automatic

Settings > Display Settings > Video Output Settings
Go through the process there to re-detect HDMI Video and such.

Settings > Sound Settings > Audio Output Settings
Go through the process there to re-detect HDMI Audio and such.

Omg 3 hours later and I can finally play happily... thank you guys!!! for future reference i did what both you guys said but i also just did and entire "restore default settings"
It restarted my ps3 and reset everything and now it seems to work, just a good thing i was able to remember what email my ps3 account was on and the password to it lol

I wonder if this will also fix the black screen issue i had on my other tv... but i think ill save that for another day lol

Yeah so like I said I tried this same fix with my other tv to try to fix my black screen problem but it didnt work ... All I wanna do is play on a tv thats TWICE THE SIZE. This is such a stupid problem.

I also tried just logging in to get past the web browser page. I know its a problem with the game loading the web browser so I memorized the buttons to log in and click play. I did that and I heard it log in and then I waited and heard the theme music start playing again which I can only assume is me sitting on the start screen. But the screen is still black. I made it past the web browser but my screen was still black. I dont really get it at all.

Anyway, if anyone can help me with this black screen issue please do
