"Hello. I'm Pico and I have an End of an Era problem."
Is it just because we have the context or is it actually one of the best cinematic made? I wonder how this is going down with the gaming media. Ive only really see re-posting of the video so far.

It really is awesome it captures the raw power of summons just like FFIX did with its cutscenes, i hope SE can keep making cutscenes like this one.

Hello, my name is Tryst and I have an End of an Era problem.
I too keep watching the video over and over. Every time the boss leaves the room, I alt+tab back to the video and play it again. The music is stuck on a never-ending loop in my head. The emotional rush I get watching it is like a drug, and I just need one more fix to get through the next few hours. *sigh*
I showed it to my co-workers, one of which played ffxiv at the beginning, the others play Guildwars and/or WoW. The WoW players did appreciate the video, said that the dragon was epic, but they lacked the emotional response that I had.
I don't know if that's because I'm female, and was in a particularly female mood the first time I watched the trailer. That first time, at midnight after trying in vain to stay logged in, the video just punched me in the gut and dragged out all sorts of emotional responses.
It could be due to the progressing storyline, the increasing involvement and sense of urgency in getting all of the quests done and watching the cut scenes. The final save date, and then the eerie feel of the world without the normal music and knowing that your fate has already been decided.
Either way, I too have a problem and am not ashamed to admit it.

This is most likely due to them not knowing the story behind the trailer. The bigger response is the fact that Bahamut beat the tar out of Deathwing's appearance in the Cataclysm trailer. That's something most of us can also agree with.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
I think the trailer works so well because the music was done long before this trailer was even thought of. They definitely did a great job choreographing the scenes with the song.
I also like the part when they all protect the Hyur when he gets shot in the face. The feeling it gives you. And I also like the part when they stand in awe as Bahamut destroys the world. That part when he flies past them and they all flinch in fear. It's so subtle but so well done. It really conveys how they, for once, don't know what to do.
If you watch the first ever trailer, and then the last ever trailer...you get two different feelings. And they both have the same song. It's fascinating. No one knew it would come to this when watching the first trailer. I think it really hit me hard when I heard the same song in the final trailer. Though I sort of expected it...I think it just hit me hard because of the entirely different emotion it gives you compared to the first trailer. Breathtaking. Amazing. This is why I go to school for Computer Animation.

Today one of my FB friends posted the trailer on her timeline (without my influence). She never played a single FF title. I like to see the trailer being posted around outside the FF universe.
I played FFXIV before it was cool.http://www.shadowflame-linkshell.de

omg i'm not the only ;__;
Momo Ochita From Ragnarok
It's got subliminal messages in it, kind of like this movie.
It's how SE will keep their playerbase even if it takes ages for 2.0 to come out...
