Why does all of this process gives me literal Brazil vibes
I have to say, I'm quite impressed with this.
As noted elsewhere, the cipher system and the fact you cannot choose which instance you enter is a big red sign from the devs saying: "This content is not designed for a 48-person premade." And yet, because that is what raiders know, they ignored the sign and followed usual practice. Some friction ensued.
It's encouraging that some players read the sign, comprehended it, and then set about figuring out how to tackle the content.
That doesn't alter the fact the design is terrible, but I always like seeing players think outside the box.![]()
Yeah, in the island , not in forked tower directly. All they did is remove instance prog, not the actual entry into forked.
Which means randos still get access, so the discords are still going to be pissed.
And to top it off, they tell you now who is trying to get in, which even if they don't get in, can potentially paint a target on their back, especially if there some new person who didn't know any better.
They provided a quarter solution, while potentially adding a harasment tool. WHY?
OH THATS RIGHT, THEY THOUGHT DRS WAS TOO EASY TO ENTER, WE ARE MEANT TO STRUGGLE IF WE WANT TO PLAY WITH OUR FRIENDS, WTF??????????????

The other way I see this working is that they will see the rando. step off the platform and not trigger tower that way. The only way around this is seeing how many ciphers people have put down.

They are going to allow you to queue in directly, from my understanding. It will just take time since it has to be separated from the instance itself.

I mean it's possible, but then the entire raid just spent theirs before some rando adds his.
Then what? everyone just forfets the currency they spent?
Imagine someone actually sniping maliciously only adds his when there is 5 seconds left on the counter.
Its a terrible solution. Doesn't do anything to solve the situation.

IF I recall you actually get the ciphers back if forked tower doesn't proc.
Of course, these measures still aren't the best and FT was definitely a step back in many respects.
I know, but the person I quoted said that that the difficulty in getting into an instance together was SE's way of saying this wasn't meant for pre-formed 48 person parties - which clearly isn't true given the changes.
Even if a random snipes at the last second I believe you get your cipher back if you leave tower immediately.I mean it's possible, but then the entire raid just spent theirs before some rando adds his.

Thanks both u and Maltothris for the clarification, its been a bit since I gave up trying to enter the instance and forgot all the rules around it.I know, but the person I quoted said that that the difficulty in getting into an instance together was SE's way of saying this wasn't meant for pre-formed 48 person parties - which clearly isn't true given the changes.

But I still think it's a terrible solution.
Even assuming the currency isn't wasted, everyone time potentially is wasted.
Am I correct in assuming that if everyone leaves, it's still upwards of a 30ism minute wait for the next attempt potentially?

I wouldn’t call it terrible or the worst solution but it is the most easy for them and kinda half baked imo. Thanks both u and Maltothris for the clarification, its been a bit since I gave up trying to enter the instance and forgot all the rules around it.

It will make it easier for preformed groups like Discord ones but they basically shot down a normal version before the next field zone at the end of this expansion.
I don’t know how to feel about it all tbh.
It’s great that they reacted to feedback and at least were open in that their quality is lacking but all those feedbacks they have shown?
They are snippets from posts from the Japanese forum which tells me that they really don’t care about every one else but them.
Anyway, guess I wait for trying it through Discord In 7.3 then if not 8.0 or somewhere in the future… if at all.
