Aside from the MB, anyone with a gatherer at lvl 60+ can get one map per day for free . You only need to enter a portal 4 times. It’s an easy objective accessible to everyone lvl 60+. Event is there for several weeks and there will be some PFs up too if you don’t want to make one.

Alternatively, if you have a team of 5 players, and each of you spends 15 tomes each on one map each, you get 5 maps that give you 5 portals. And then everyone gets 50 tomes, for a net profit of 35 tomes per player.

It's amazing how quickly the math starts making sense when you assume a player has friends. (Which is a bold assumption in a lot of cases, but that's another discussion entirely.)
