i wont mind new or older ones beside the Primals. but now that person put the fear in me that they will only get those stupid elementals you fight for the whm quest.

final fantasy series have tons of summons other than the usual ones. summoner will never be in shortage :||
As long as we get Carbuncle, Valefore, Ramuh (Or Ixion) i'm happy.
They can introduce "minor-primals" that are summons that will not become primal boss battles.
Solved.
Summoning elementals is enough for me.
I'm more concerned about the battle system, I want a real pet system not summon an Avatar for 2 seconds cast a buff and dismiss like in 11.
A pet that stays out for the whole fight and GAMBITS so that you can set your pet to act in a certain way during battle.
Yojimbo and anima , other as that .... hmmm ..
If they implement it i hope you have to beat a very hard NM/ boss to gain the skill/summon for use .. like with the boss weapons.
As u know in the FF game series u wont get a summon unless you beated it first![]()
Is there no chance that we can get Iffy as a Summoner? Would make me very sad
Hey we were able to kill him for about 200 times per person, there has to be one for our Summoners. But I know about the Free Company thing..
Guess what?! In all FF titles that had summoner, summoner was different from the previous game. Get over it.
I want to summon FF-type summons such as Carbuncle. Only being able to summon Elementals is a little bland. I hope they change their mind about Grand Companies only being able to summon the primals. I can understand certain summons being off limits because of size/power such as Bahamut. Even if they did a scaled down primal or maybe an alternate version of the summon.
I think the FFX and FFXI teams did a great job with Summoner. FFX kept the summons around so they felt like actual party members. FFXI SMN wasn't great until they split the Blood Pact timer. I liked the idea of SMN being someone who buffs the PT and then delivers a spike-damage style attack. I just wish perpetuation timers weren't a part of the play style. Avatars would vanish too quickly and their melee DoT didn't really warrant a perp cost.
The problem is everyone wants new jobs to be top tier DD, self-buffers, and solo specialists. Jobs need to specialize in unique areas. Problems arise when a job can do everything or isn't specialized enough.
I just had to pop in to say that Fenrir is not lame.
