I cannot even get myself doing normal content. After 10 years of itemspiral it is exhausting to get better stuff. So no allagan stones nor m1-4 farming. I just log in to hoard gil and buy equipment. And sometimes doing PvP due to FOMO, not that I like it at all.

Otherwise me and my friends in my fc are playing other games. Satisfactory, Core Keeper and survival games are more excitung.

You could sum up I am really going into that vacation theme by not grinding myself.

Not much, really. Just doing occasional frontlines to hit series rank 25 before the next patch.

I kind of get why they want to avoid putting busywork content (eureka/bozja) at the start of an expac, but man they should really have something. Though also, that busywork content doesn't usually do much for me either since I usually just stick to one job.

I guess I should add, I also do weekly savage reclears, prog was finished on week 1. But that isn't "stay subbed" content for most people.

well your OP goes with any patch be it future or past really. how long does a piece of content last for you and do you like it?.

I'm specifically mentioning 7.0 in the OP, and the wait time before new content drops in 7.1, idk where you got this. Also objectively there's less to do, within an expansion's content, before the first patch than during the time before a new expansion launches.

Recently got done getting the hunt mount (Ullr, from 1000 S ranks and 2000 A ranks) and the new series PvP mount. Still need to farm FATEs, which I'm looking forward to just because of the zone music. Still leveling more of my jobs through roulettes to get that mount. Still need to do all the high-end content and farm the Extremes for mounts and the crafter/gatherer deliveries.

There's PVP, but I think just doing the same CC over and over gets old fast and the larger modes are brutally imbalanced to be enjoyable.

I enjoy it. Frontline has been fun to me personally. I really enjoyed CC when I did it but I just exhausted my reason for needing it anymore (for now).

Leveling jobs through roulettes each day can be fun. It's playing jobs you're probably not used to and trying to actually be good at them still, while dealing with random players who, you know, probably aren't that good or are new/returning players, so you never know what people you'll get and the associated experience. And before you say this is old content, not necessarily, I've often got the new dungeons and trials while leveling, plus you can force this with the Limited roulette setting.

FATEs are just a chill content. Great if you're maybe a little sleepy and just want to listen to the BG music or something. Chill, relaxing content is good to have as well. It's also not something you have to do alone; the social experience can make it better when you talk with your party.

7.0 is objectively barren of things.

It's barely different to any other expansion launch however.

I play like once or twice a week currently and check on stuff I'm selling. I already went back and farmed for the Endwalker EX mounts and got the Bahamut with Chair mount, got a few things i was missing on old content and some glams for Viper and Pictomancer. Currently I am working on some old crafting and gathering tools for the achievements.
While I'm annoyed there's not too much to do atm I kinda expected it; this happened to me with pretty much all the expansions that I was here the whole time for. Whenever the hunts are actually worth doing (for gear upgrades; sorry not dealing with all the toxicity just for materia I can get faster other methods) and there's more content again in 7.1 I'll play more again.

The biggest thing this expansion has to do is succeed with its exploratory zone content and side content. And it cant come in 7.35 because that is too long of a wait.

Completing old content you haven't done isn't anything bad. Every content added to the game eventually becomes 'old' content.
Doesn't have to be ARR or Heavensward Relics. But existing deep dungeons, criterion, and field operations for example are still there... and criterion aside people still run the content.

Item Level is only a glorified "key" to unlock access to instances in this game anyway. Whether the content is for lv60, 70, 80, 90 or 100 it really doesn't matter... Every content of a given type follows the same template so closely in this game that if you don't think the existing ones are interesting you're not going to like the new one all that much either.

I never understood this ridiculous notion that content HAS to be current-expansion or it's not worth doing. For what? Mounts and minions are rewards for everything already. Tomestones you have no use for? BiS you don't need for anything unless you're a raider?

I don't disagree that they're taking too long with updates, which haven't been substantial in a while. But the comment dismissing old content as not worth doing prompted me to leave my thoughts.

Rewards are so incredibly inconsequential in this game that the only real weighting factor in what content to run is "how bored will I be without X actions this job will lose by being synced down".

Dawntrail and Endwalker launch feel like they're basically the same in regard to content. The difference is this time I'm actually engaging with savage and shared fates, in addition to ex fights which I did in EW too. Progging savage was pretty fun but PF inconsistency also slowwwed down progression, with M2S and M3S burning me out cuz they each took like a hundred wipes before I cleared them (week 2 and 3 respectively).

Then I took M4S at a slow pace while doing reclears, and I finally beat that fight last week. This week I recleared all 4 pretty fast on Tuesday, and with no other fights to prog I can just chill out till next week, which I welcome. Right now I'm just doing the occasional EX PFs, roulettes and other stuff for gil, levelling my crafter and gatherer, and shared fates.
