I do, I really do.. I've seen some madness as well, trust me, but I still feel that if it's on their plot, they're only doing themselves a disservice. It's a fine line, true, but at least it's not invading someone else's space.
Forfeiting the house is as far as I'd go, but only in cases of undeniable evidence and intent of griefing. But lets say if i offended some vegan neighbor for having 20 BBQ'd spits placed out on my lawn in a pentagram formation, if i like their placement, they are going to have to suck it up and deal with it. Though is that griefing? lolFirst, as someone that almost always has my sound in game off except for when I know there will be great music.. I had no idea those Namazu things made noise. Ugh. Ugly and noisy too? No thanks!
Yeah, I firmly believe they did this to grief those interested in that plot, and heck, even if it didn't start out that way, they've been asked by the new owner to stop. The fact that they come to this thread to gloat shows their intentions.
I think that when someone goes to the extreme that this FC did, there shouldn't be a next time. They should be banned and the plot removed from their custody. Perhaps someday, they'll make new accounts and try again, but have a little more common sense than they previously displayed.
As far as loud Namazu and ugly creations- I have avoided bidding on plots simply for those reasons, well, not the noise, but the visuals around the plot. Those giant purple trees do a wonder to block out ugly things and sound effects can be turned off. So long as my plot is mine alone, I'd be okay if a nightmare neighbor showed up though.
Also thank you for understanding my point.

Anytime, and thank you for seeing mine. I really do appreciate it.Forfeiting the house is as far as I'd go, but only in cases of undeniable evidence and intent of griefing. I have a bad neighbor IRL. Crazy old lady, hassles everyone in the neighborhood, but unfortunately, we bought the house right next to her and had no idea she was nuts. What we have discovered unfortunately is since she was dumb enough to mess with our property, we were able to successfully have her prosecuted. She now has 3 criminal charges on her record. Know which neighbor she doesn't mess with anymore?
If this kind of griefing is punished, this behavior will stop. You may get the whacky person who has a love for Namazu's or Heaven on High jumpies, but unfortunately, unlike RL, you can't sue someone for being a nuisance. You just have to wait till they break the actual law.
Oh, and the guy that posted in this thread bragging a few pages back? He forgot to remove his main from his posting characters "about me/characters" profile.. so he's outted his main by his own self, lol.

I think I’ve seen the bottom one on my server! lol
But imo, someone can make their own plot as ugly as they wish… I’ll roll my eyes and move on, whether they’ve used add-ons to do it or not. The issue here is someone using add-ons (that are supposedly against the TOS) to place something in someone else’s space, thus denying the owner the right to use it as they see fit. Their “creative license” only applies to their own plot.
But clearly they’re doing this to try and harass the owner of the medium. Most likely in hopes that they’ll move out and open the plot up to them. (IIRC this started when the plot was up for bidding? To try and discourage bidding?) The harassment alone should be enough for action to be taken. The fact that it’s allowed to stand is just encourages others to do the same, because it’s not being punished in any way.
I'm fine with SE disabling the mods. The question is can they find a way to do it that won't break the things as they are intended to work in game.
Not every problem has proactive steps that will guarantee prevention of future issues. Sometimes there's no realistic choice other than to take action after the fact.
This is unfortunately an example of another problem with housing that wouldn't be a problem if the housing system was fully instanced in the first place.
The first is not acceptable. The double HoH looks to be placed outside of the plot's boundaries not to mention I don't know of anyway to get 2 of them to stack except through use of a mod.
I would want a closer look at the second but the HoHs appear to be placed on the plot's ground within the plot's boundaries. Players may not like the look but if they were placed through normal means then it's acceptable.

There is a way to place things that appear to be outside a plot by using the Glade Hedge fence I think, for some reason, it exposes the corners of the plot so you can place something small there and it's legal. Not saying that the picture is the case but I've put the shrubs on that empty spot when I had the fence up.

The guy has a raider rank in his free company. I wonder if they know about his involvement? https://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...5048202050282/I do know that the people doing this think it's funny and cute, like the guy mentioning that it's his 'favorite museum in Eorzea'. It's exactly no coincidence that this person is listed in the greeting section of the offending plots placard as the "curator", right? I mean, it just boggles the mind that there are people out there who giggle over stuff like this. The REALLY best part of this is that he's outted his main by posting in this thread, as all you have to do is click his posting profile to see it.
Has anyone tried to post about this on Japanese side of the forums? Maybe that could help to get SE notice this.
