I'm back from Lost Ark

People still play Bot Ark? I tried it and from 1-50 I didn't even see a single human being but thousands of berserker bots speed hacking and no clipping around despite having to sit in a queue of thousands thanks to all the bots.

I'm sure you think this is a 'gotcha' moment but FFXIV doesn't have even 1/10000th of the bots that Cost Ark has and you're outright lying if you think they're on the same level of severity. There's barely any demand for gil vs a p2w games currency lol

That's only because all the RMT activities in FF14 are hidden from plain sight these days. Believe me when I say that I know more about this than you do.

This has precisely nothing to do with bots however so I have no idea why you even brought it up. It's also something that exists in every single online video game.

I am already extremely fatigued by the focus on alts in it. I had put back doing weeklies on them until tonight, and I just couldn't wait until it was over. On one of them I had a party that kept wiping too, and I was getting really, really annoyed. I don't have as much of an issue playing my sorceress, it's just the alts. I just don't want to play them. You can always pay to win to bypass the necessity for alts I suppose.

Kind of a me issue though. I really just don't like playing alts (or alt-jobs) that much.

Excuse me? RMT activities are a major reason why bots are running rampant in any game, and I don't know why you're acting like someone's pushing a topic onto you when you brought it up in the first place. If you don't want to talk about it, then don't bring it up.

I'm the same way for the most part. It's why I decided to wait for the release of the Arcana to play anymore. With any luck, by then, there'll be more horizontal progression stuff to do, and I'll get to explore and collect to my heart's content.

Lost Ark still doing good in general. There's about 250k players (exclude Bots) still around and just doing their daily or weekly.
But still, how long will this game last? Because... well you know... AGS is the publisher of Lost Ark NA/EU server

That's interesting. Is it raiding that requires a focus on alts? Or is it something required by the general game itself?

I love alts, but I would hate to feel forced to progress them.

You are, and you aren't forced to progress alts. It's a nice bonus. You really just want to park alts at certain ilvl thresholds for awhile, so you can earn gold and farm mats from content. You then funnel that into your main. For legion raids, optimally, you want to have 6 characters, eventually doing them every week. In Korea, that's the bulk of your weekly gold income. If you have more than one of the same character, you can send them class accessories to further min-max. You can play one character, but your main progression, and income will be slowed as a result.

The game is very heavy on roster (or server) progression alongside your characters. For me, it's more of a matter of that I don't really want to play alts much at all. For an altoholic, that also likes to raid, they'd probably really like it. Regardless, I have kept up in progression on my sorceress, and I am not behind at all. Well, I'm behind whales, but that's a given.
