They need to increase the grace period by at least 5 mins because of 2002

Are you telling me that since August 24, 2013, they have been unable to update / upgrade their login servers because of covid? No. I know for a fact that they have been updated, especially since they moved the NA datacenter to a new provider in CA as compared to Montreal. The physical datacenter that the systems are in has additional capacity that Sq could lease as well... but they don't.
Been trying since 1 PM (CST). Yeah, I know... 1 PM on a Sunday is doomed to fail, I had RL obligations...
It's now 4:30 PM CST, I've not once been below 4000th in the Queue before the server flips the table with the 2002 error. (Given Aether's general population, and the fact that Cactaur's got a queue of at least 7800 as I type this? I'm assuming it's hitting the 17000+ failure that kicks everyone)
Would it really be that hard to simply have the Queue reject new connections when it's 16000+ ("Due to severe congestion, the login queue is presently full. Please wait a few minutes and try again later.") rather than flipping the table and closing all active ones at 17000? I wouldn't mind a long queue / wait to play if I could get into the queue and STAY IN IT.
and while I typed that I got to 7219 and 2002'd.
yes this is pretty insane I love SE but they should have fixed this since shadowbringers was releasedBeen trying since 1 PM (CST). Yeah, I know... 1 PM on a Sunday is doomed to fail, I had RL obligations...

I'm not gonna say "they should have forseen this / upgraded the servers". Budgets are funny things (and annoying to work within when you're doing tech), the global supply chain is 10000 kinds of broken right now.
But a simple "the queue is full, try again later" put in at a number lower than the point where everyone gets force kicked out of the queue would at least aleviate these problems, and cost no additional money to implement. I will NOT give a free pass on that one, logging in has been an exercise in frustration the last few days. I don't nesseccarily blame SqEnix for this, some of it is legitimately not their fault. However this specific aspect of 2002 errors (that it errors out at more than 17000 for the whole Data Center) is easily fixable, and rightfully deserves criticism.
part of the issue I feel is that there are a number of people making the server congestion worse by finding ways to stay logged in when they aren't playing the game
