What's the highest difficulty you have consistently cleared in this expansion? Ultimate I guess, cleared UWU a few times and progging TEA rn

Whats your favourite encounter this expansion? Why? E4S, it's fun

What's your least favourite encounter this expansion? Why? Ruby Weapon, granted I didn't learn it properly I don't think the dance is very fun

Whats your favourite encounter this expansion? Why? Probably BJ/CC phase of TEA. BJ/CC mechanically is very interesting and fun to perform.

1. When given the opportunity I would prefer to go healer, but I'm flexible and will switch to whatever job brings the most utility to the team. And I like to be able to claim competency at all jobs in the game, so I'll also switch it up constantly. For my Savage static, unfortunately, I was put in a DPS role as a summoner.

2. By sheer difficulty, Eden 4 Savage. I've cleared up through Eden 7 Savage and I'm progging through E8S very slowly, but E4S is by far the most difficult fight I've cleared more than once this expansion.

3. This is a tough one, but I think Hades Ex might be my favorite fight from the current content. I like that it has so many phases, and it's challenging without being downright painful like the Eden Savage fights.

4. Eden 8 Savage. Light Rampant. Thanks, SE, I hate it.

Whats your favourite encounter this expansion? Why? Hades NM because I love the story and this was just so touching!
What's your least favourite encounter this expansion? Why? Innocence fight because I just hate Vauthry and his voice and his self-righteous BS... Im glad the mount farming was over fairly quickly for my FC. It'll be great to never hear his voice again.

Depends on the content. I mostly enjoy tanking trials and normal raids (bosses), dpsing dungeons and alliance raids, and healing Bozja content (Bozja, Delumbrum Reginae, Zadnor).
And of course, if something gets too stale, I like to switch it up.

• What's the highest difficulty you have consistently cleared in this expansion?

Extreme Trials.

• Whats your favourite encounter this expansion? Why?

Seat of Sacrifice Extreme. For an extreme difficulty fight, it's very challenging, which makes it more enjoyable. The music is also god-tier. The boss itself is also more interesting than any other boss in the expansion, in my opinion.

• What's your least favourite encounter this expansion? Why?

A tie between these two:

The mid-boss fight in the dungeon "Amaurot", and
the mid-boss fight in the dungeon "Paglth'an".
These aren't really boss fights, they're glorified trash pulls. Trash pulls aren't fun and I'm really disappointed they replaced what are normally single-target bosses.

I'm currently working on a university paper about Final Fantasy XIV Encounters and I want to gather data from different players. The encounters will be from the Shadowbringer expansion with a focus on the mechanical side of the fight, so I'll appreciate if you have that in mind.

Encounters can be anything combat related introduced in ShB (Dungeons 71-80, Trials, 24-man, etc.)

If you can answer this questions:

1. What's your preferred role in a fight?
   
2. What's the highest difficulty you have consistently cleared in this expansion?

1. Tank
2. Daily Roulette (I'm a filthy casual.)
3. Seat of Sacrifice. Mechanics.
4. King Moogle fight. I hate moogles.

1. Moved onto ranged DPS. Not too fussed over it being magical or physical, but I guess for this tier I was Magical DPS.
2. Cleared and farmed all of the Shadowbringers Savage on content
3. E9S, Cloud of Darkness Savage was pretty fun to learn with the floor tiles mechanic. It also has some pretty fun movement options as RDM.
4. E12S, Eden's Promise Savage and Oracle of Darkness. I don't know if you count this as one or two encounters, but I guess specifically the first half. I'm not really a fan of fights with long transitions in general as it feels there's too much downtime, especially when you're progging and you have to sit through it to get to the part you're learning. But at least in something like Hades or Shiva t still feels like it's a continuation of the fight. Door bosses just feel like "do this unrelated fight for no rewards just to get to the part that actually matters". They're really cool the first time, but very quickly wear out their welcome and I would suggest having them be Normal Mode only, where progging and farming is less likely. Doesn't help that E12SP1 is harder than P2, so the actual rewarded part of the fight feels underwhelming in comparison.

Bonus mention to E7S for just being really slow to actually get going. It feels like you go for almost 2 minutes before significant mechanics actually start happening.

Since they said it's for school, I don't think it's being made with publication in mind, though OP did say (earlier on this page in fact) that they'd be happy to share it with us here.
