This makes me chuckle (not at you), only because I have some old 1.0 titles like Notorious Monster Hunter that I always wear out of habit and I can promise you after all these years... not a single person as ever asked how I got any of my titles lol.
Hah, that's true. I admit, I've looked up a few titles because they sounded pretty great. I was genuinely sad that I joined too late to get the "Calamatologist" title from one of the big events.
I joined right at the end of Stormblood, around the time Shadowbringers was announced. So for me, it was a lot of effort. For the folks who have been around the whole time, it was probably much easier. Either way, I don't think that's a reason to make the glamour items completely unavailable now. (Assuming there isn't some legal snag with regards to the rights.)

Mostly because titles in this game are rather meaningless. You get showered in titles for the most basic content so even if you have an extremely rare one nobody is gonna care, because how are they supposed to know that yours is not one of the 300 titles they got just by playing the MSQ and actually took some effort?

I think the game should have a period of "exclusive" then make the item available in some way again. Only things that should stay unobtainable are Legacy things. People start this game at various times, the stuff doesn't have to stay permanently but make the stuff accessable through something like the mog tome events.
On GARO it WAS around that long, but I can tell you pvp changed a lot between when I did it (last two patches of HW) vs Stormblood, and all I gotta say is I'm glad I did it when I did.

Unobtainable items should always be brought back in some way shape or form. I hate having to tell my friends who are new to the game that they are SoL getting some items and there is no hope of them attaining them no matter what they do or their skill level. It doesn't make me feel good. All I did was happen to be in the right place at the right time.

To many players its not so much about how rare or exclusive a reward is. Its what it signifies or represents. The story it tells...I get not wanting to share it, as you worked hard for x and it was your reward for that effort. But it's been nearly 10 years. There will be a lot more people enjoying the earrings now who currently play then the probably incredibly small handful who have it at this point. No ones wearing em, no one knows what they're from, I don't see a reason to keep it to the 1.0 players honestly.
To be fair... I simply just don't value game items anymore so maybe that's just me. I've been playing MMOs since I was 14. You know what happened to all my items I had such pride in from FFXI and SWTOR? They might as well don't exist because I havent logged in for countless years and don't plan to any time soon. My 1.0 stuff here sits in a retainer collecting dust. None of it really matters at the end of the day. Not trying to make it a jab to people who do find value in their items... I just don't think it's important enough to keep an obscure award from 10 years ago away from people who are actually playing now.
And when you just start handing that stuff out. All of that is lost...
It'd be like giving everyone a gold.medal from the 2000 Olympics. And saying we'll they've had 20 years of exclusivity... so let's let everyone have one now...
Totally destroys everything they represent.. and that was exactly the uproar with the white ravrens. Not about exclusivity or rarity. But destroying then items very significance and meaning.
I'd disagree it destroys the story. The story and emotions behind it are still there. For example my 1.0 Goober, in which they added a very similar Goober after relaunch. The story how I got the Goober is still different and unique to most and if I ever wanted to, I can easily become the old man who gathers the children Goober riders and tells them the grand tale of the 1.0 Goobering. To many players its not so much about how rare or exclusive a reward is. Its what it signifies or represents. The story it tells...

Not that anyone, would ever ask. Let alone silly impossible to see earrings on my skull.
And thats assuming theres anyone else around to tell the story, which I'm going to assume is an increasingly small number by the day.
I do actually agree in general about the fear of legitimizing awards that people work hard for, but only up to a point. 10 years is long enough.

Didn't you get the Dalamud Horn from just doing MSQ??
You were literally just given the Hermes Shoes for having an FF11 account when you made a FF14 one.
OP was asking for the Dated Willow Halfmask. IIRC that was an item you could just craft/buy??
These are not remotely comparable to Olympic medals.
What kind if crazy items did you think we were asking for access to?

This is the one 1.0 item I want to return, the black color would go with all glams but the only one we have in game is red.

it's fine to disagree as everyones different. which you could see with the white ravens fiasco. some people couldnt care less. some were outraged. there's a pretty broad spectrum of gamers. and in truth it can be a very fine line.
i mean something as simple as adding the word replica to those earrings would have made the world of difference. the originals would still keep there significance and people could have had the glamour if they so choose.
The quote in my post refers to things like the white ravens.. regarding general 1.0 models it would be nice to see some of them be available definitly. but then i often wish for some simpler gear design anyway...
gets annoying that literally every body piece in the game is now a long coat with a huge cape or a full blown robe or gown absolutely crammed with bells and whistles and accessories.
the obselete androids striking top for example would be nice without the full blown cape on the back imo.
