With 6 characters each having 9 retainers at lvl 80 ilvl 480 (54 retainers) I have noticed a drastic reduction in the craftable stuff dropped on Quick Explorations, but it's still there, and it still destroys for the crafters. QE should give you what drops from dungeons, and sometimes raids, maybe some General-Purpose dye and other non-craftable stuff, but never, ever craftable stuff, that is the developers interfering with the local market economy.

Well, if it sells for more than 5k, I sell it, if it sells for more than 50k, I start considering crafting it, and if it sells above 100k, I definitely start crafting it, unless, of course, one of the mats are insanely costly, which often happens. Last night, before going to bed, I bought at least 1000 itens off of the MB for desynth. I can't understand why people don't understand the value of what they sell for a few hundred gil.

A lot of players never level crafting so they don't have access to desynthesis. Selling the item on the MB ends up being the better way to make gil from it (assuming it will still sell for more than the sell to vendor price).

There are also a lot of people who just don't understand the value of money in general, frequently because other members of their household handle budget.
