and it should take that long, you dont get hunt mounts in 1 week either even now when getting them has become much faster. If you dont grind at least quite a bit (even if you dont do this daily) you will probably take months or maybe even years..they could have easily give us the mount after getting one DoH and one DoL to 500k and it would still take most of the people quite a bit of a time..that achievement would be better placed in a Asia grind F2P MMO..
In the end Ishgard restauration has turned into nothing but an utter grindfest for rowena like turn ins. You either craft that one expert item a huge amount of time or another. The few fates that we have are still as boring as the first ones and just take longer to spawn and honestly Diadem was only fun for the first few times afterwards (especially if you want to win a title) its nothing but mindless grind again. At least I can watch some lets plays next to it. The only thing fun was the new attack in it and I wished we had more of that and less of just pure grind.
For it being the endgame content for crafters and gatherers it feels bad to me. In the end its just Rowena with a different look. The next steps really have to be absolutely great to make me change my opinion.
If I average 20k points a day, I can have the mount achievement completed in about 10 months. That's really not that bad. It gives me a long term goal to work toward rather than becoming another piece of content that's completed the same week it's released then forgotten.

I definitely can understand that some feel it is disappointing as an end game for crafters right now. But still it's contributing to server wide progress on what's likely to be a new housing district, something that many players have been asking for. And it opens the door for SE to expand on Expert craft related content in the future, much as squadrons led to Trust and the Doman Enclave was likely a testing ground for the Restoration.
I'm sure they're using the combat relic weapon grind as a guide for the Skytool grind. There will definitely be a lot of crafting and gathering involved to progress the tools but it won't be based on Skyward points.

We dont know if that is the case. And still for most people even just having one for each would be enough.
No you dont but there is a big difference between a few weeks and a couple of farming and taking maybe even years..again if you take it down to one its still 1 million points to get..this is still a huge grind for anyone not utterly hardcore or no living it. What it does is to take away the motivation to even try it. And all of that for a mount that already exists as a monster in the game.
Of course those with huge amount of time on their hand and nothing else to do in the game might be able to grind it but still..just doing 20k points a day (which will be hours of hours of Diadem per day) will take you nearly a year. That is insane imo. (I mean there could be middle ground between having everything in a week and having to grind to at least a year for it..)If I average 20k points a day, I can have the mount achievement completed in about 10 months. But I guess its just easier to do content where you barely do anything new, reuse a map again and add one new stuff to it and then make it "long term" by just putting a lot of zeros behind the number for the achievement. So kinda like a lot F2P grind MMOs. I mean if that is the way that achievements go..instead of being fun.
Maybe instead of dropping the mounts in savage people should just clear it 5k times to get it. Might completely turn away anyone that isnt ultra hardcore from ever trying but at least a couple of those might be happy.

Honestly, to me they can easily just keep adding things to the scrip vendor and keep this relevant with minimal effort. Even when the Firmament is completed they could just have an automated "maintain the Firmament" phase where they still accept turn-ins and keep the seasons going if they want with new rewards for top 12/100 other than titles.
As new expansions release they can just copy and paste this system if we have to rebuild Garlemald or whatever just as easily or even just add say level 90 items to the existing Ishgard turn-in so people can use it to level even later, etc. They can stretch this out as long as they want without doing a lot of work once the base concept is in place. It's pretty much a copy and paste of Rowena collectables with some extra stuff.
While 500k all craft/gatherer is pretty ridiculous they've been going in this direction lately with the all battle jobs amaro mount as well which takes a while to get. Maybe not as long, but still a lot of gameplay.

Maybe next expansion, the Skybuilders could get contracted to help rebuild Ala Mhigo for the next round of crafting/gathering end game. The Ishgard segment remains as a step for leveling and earning existing rewards, while 80-90 jobs move on to the next step with new shinies to work towards. Maybe repurpose part of the Eureka maps for gatherers, I'd certainly get some catharsis from blasting some of those monsters into bits.
What i wish for is just using some bound crafts you cant get on the MB, which you have to gather or trade for tokken yourself. Id love that on any relic but welp, i guess it sill is too hard to level crafters lol
50-60 steps?
Whenever I try an expert recipe, I'm either out of CP or durability in about 20 steps, and that's with Specialist, Cr: 2523, Co:2385, CP: 542 If I do manage to complete one, the quality is too low to turn in.
What stats do you need to complete one of these?
It's kind of jarring how sharply the Restoration progress has dropped off on most servers now that the rankings are over.
I think they needed something to make people want to keep coming back and doing turn-ins past the Kupo of Fortune stuff.
Considering that six out of the last ten Kupo cards I got had two to three spots only giving prisms, they really need more than that to keep me caring.
