GM Warning for 'Offensive Language', No actual reason given

my biggest issue with how vague and nebulous many of the terms of the new tos is it ignores cultural differences, using the wave or goodbye emote is offensive to a grecian, using the thumbs up is offensive to a middle easterner, GIVING LALAS HEADPATS is offensive to a thailander, the peace sign is offensive to the british (something you see a LOT in japanese selfies), scottish and australians use the c word as casually as americans use the f word, you NEED to draw lines where the eula/tos starts otherwise nobody knows when theyve crossed it, and context should be king in determining when an 'offense' is an actual offense toward a person and not just 2 friends being cheeky to each other

Honestly I really don't get how "offensive language" is even something people can or should be punished for. We have a BLACKLIST if people don't want to listen so unless it's spamming the channels or getting around the blacklist (which is harrasment) then there shouldn't be any warnings for this unless its persistent or nonstop. Let's also remember that what some people find offensive others will shrug and not give a damn. Never liked this sort of GM action either as it's easily abusable for trollbaiting and malicious purposes. It also feeds idiots who are too sensitive and not have the cop on or sense to rise above things or ignore things of no consequence.

Warning people without giving a reason or detail as to WHAT your being warned for is certainly dubious and open to being challenged legally as well especially since SE's archaic system does not allow for minor warnings or such to expire after a certain amount of time has elapsed. If SE were to perma ban someone for a minor offence because they had a previous minor offence it's likely a solicitor or lawyer would easily take em to court and win. It would also look pretty stupid of them as well.

It's the other way around that's offensive to Brits The peace sign is fine, it was used a lot by a former Prime Minister during WWII, but these days the more recent generation have adopted the US single finger to show offense.

You know i find it funny that profanity/offensive language is a violation when the game itself actually has a feature that censor profanity. People who can't take profanity should just turn on this feature what's so difficult?

Offensive language is difficult and subjected to one's opinion. I could just say healers adjust plz and people will get offended too.

What gets me is that game uses profanity (olde English but still) then censors you based on 1 report instead of a threshhold?

Since they updated the ToS I've tried my best to not communicate inside the game. Since we have the blacklist function, the report function for harassment should be used at the last resource. Until this keeps as it is I will force myself to avoid unnecessary communication inside the game. Thank god there's other ways to communicate.

Logged in one day, "you have a 3 day ban"
No reason why
No GM talking to
No being brought to jail

No clear indication how or why it happened.

But I had to leave my free companies, tell me vaguely, dont talk to random people anymore

What a cop out response. OP just wanted to know WHAT he said that was wrong. No need to shill. And it's actually just as bad in WoW, arguably worse. The worst thing you can do in this day and age is offend someone and there are PLENTY of snowflakes in WoW. Trust me I've had enough forum vacations there to know. This time in 3019 I'll be able to post there again lol.
