Is the FFXIV story basically the PURGE?

You need to replay that questline, if you think a Flood of Light = Good. The Light killed their world like the Darkness turned the Void into a demon world. Hydaelyn sent Minfillia to the First so she can drain the Light from that world and save it. The bonus is that it will help power up Hydaelyn again because she runs on Light, but that was all framed in the context of saving the First from the Light.

I am not saying that the flood itself is good but that the actions that were done to create the flood of light were seemingly "doing too much good things, or that they were doing their work too well (and they were the WoL of their shards so probably also killing baddies and saving people)".

Ysayle was also one of Hydaelyn's chosen, but she wasn't doing good things before. The player character isn't doing good things because they're Warriors of Light, they're doing good things because they're good.

Well Ysayle also was never truly a WoL either. And we also got to be WoL because of our good deeds and there is a question going around if we will create another Flood in our world because we did too much. And since we did quite a huge lot of good stuff and if that would create a flood of light then this kinda hints towards Light = Good. I am not saying that this is the truth, just that at least for me its strange that they want to go away from that concept of Light = Good and Darkness = Bad but other than job skills never show what exactly counts as Light next to seemingly do good things.

Also if Light does not mean Good, why should we even care about balance? Because somehow our actions could count towards Darkness too but seemingly the Darkness part falls into the hands of the Ascians and they are only going around creating chaos and death.

Both us as WoL and the WoDs slayed Ravana. When we did it it promoted Light, when they did it it promoted Darkness. It's like I said before, it's a matter of association. We're Hydaelyn's Champions, the Ascians are Zodiark's. People are over complicating this.

So just because we are called WoL (or are associate with Hydaelyn) we create "Light points"? Wouldnt that mean that we are kinda bound to at one point (if we get too much Light) to stop doing anything at all? No matter how it might make the world burn? Because that would mean we would get points if we help or do bad things. Also the WoD were not agents of Zodiark. They were still the WoL from their shard and kinda still on Hydaelyns side at the end. Can we truly say they got "points" for the Darkness?
