Would you give up a large personal for your small FC?

yeah, no... I'd be looking for a better FC right now if I were you.

No FC needs a large house - and with 8 people max you're not even closed to being cramped in a medium one. Heck, not even a small one! Even if you add to those numbers you wont go from 8 to 80 active people.

Personally, I also always felt that small and mediums work better for FCs because its easier to swap decorations there, which in turn means more people get a shot at that. You can re-do one small/medium floor in an afternoon and still have the whole house fit - for a mansion thats barely possible.

And if I understand correctly you're waiting for it to auto-demolish atm so you can switch servers?
In that case I'd tell the leader how long he has to wait - or tell him how much gil you'll get from the auto-demolish. If he can pay you that amount, I would give up the house since then you're not losing out on anything.

If you want to keep the house to have a house though: Its yours to keep and you should absolutly do that. I dont really like the tone of your FC-leader, I dont believe that anyone or any FC "needs" a mansion nor that 8 people are crambed in a medium house (specially when those 8 people arent even on at the same time).

Ultimately I would be looking for an FC that would make me feel like offering to give up my house for the FCs sake - not one thats asking me to do so, after knowing so little about me in the first place that me owning a mansion comes as surprise to them.

Mmmm... Honestly I don't find the initial ask such a big issue, but personally I take offense to someone saying "I'll respect your decision if you say no" and then turning around and trying to convince you to say yes when you're asking for some time to think. If they really respect you decision then they would understand that you need some time to think it over. It's your house, you worked to get it and as someone who was in a fairly sized FC in a small, it's really not an issue since how many of the people are ever actually in the house at the same time? We managed to get a large in Shiro when it opened and the house still feels mostly empty even though we've added a bunch of furnishings because no one is ever there...

Yeah I would not do that. I was in the same situation, and just decided to turn it into a one man FC, I mean I was not getting help so said screw you guys, I'll just join a FC through LS only. handle my own Airships, which the FC I did join for a while was able to use., then they tried to abuse my generosity so I left. Now I rather play solo and do alliance FC options.

Odds are my FC leader may see this but I want to put this out there, i mean no harm by sharing this, I want however is people opinion on a subject like this.

Unless you are planning on starting your own FC, I'd say the fact that you bought the large house and nobody else did, means you earned it. If your FC is now giving you grief about it, leave the FC, because it will only become worse for you if you stay. If you were planning on starting your own FC originally, you probably should have just done that in the first place.

Either way, unless they want to buy it from you for the same price you paid for it, you are not compelled for any reason to give it up.

That's the thing..the reason why is bullcrap....that's the bottom line. (and you already reached that conclusion - im just making it a little clearer for everyone else..and FC leader if he reads this)

An FC house is just an "club house" - aside from RP'ing - there is absolutely no reason to have a large....even then...a larger FC could easily dump the funds and effort without having to (lets be honest here) beg for it. Yes housing is a thing...but to ask a member to drop their house and downgrade it...that's just adding insult to injury.

Ok fine - garden plots - but that can be resolved by helping their members get small's and such...many paths..many solutions. All of which don't require to give up your own house..and even then he could drop large garden plots and provide plants without surrendering his house....that's a far more reasonable request.

They are better off getting a small....and then waiting for a plot to open up and relocate there. If it weren't for the fact he asked you to downgrade..id (If i where you) volunteer to fund their efforts..but asking to give up your house is a slap in the face.

No I wouldn't. I own a large in Shirogane and I worked hard to get it. I'd help the FC get one though if they really wanted one.

Oh, I fully agree and think the reasoning is rather poor but I still don't think they were being guilt trippy or offensive as people make it out to be. (i sound like the devil's advocate here and maybe they are going to be persistent and annoying later, who knows! lol). But yes, it's a bit bold to ask someone to give their large like that but I see no harm in asking and respecting the answer.

Personally, I would not give up the personal large for the FC. Especially if I wasn't in any way close to the leader or its members. If I'm going to work and earn a large, I think I'm entitled to keep it. If it's true that you rarely interact with the leader, I feel like they have no business asking you to give up your personal large so that they can take it as an FC house. I find it to be none of their business what size house you have, and I don't think they have any right to ask you to give it up.

Siding with the census here, I would not give up a personal large simply because my FC asked. They are no more entitled to it than you. So unless you want to make such a trade, I wouldn't.

I would not think much of them asking nevertheless, personally I would decline the offer and if things get awkward in the FC I would leave. Oddly enough I did not take my own advice when an FC I was in on another server tried something similar, I ended up donating 45 mil to the FC only to leave said FC a week later due to things getting awkward. Do not feel pressured you owe them nothing.
