Even if I don't agree with their reasons myself, they considered yours as likely having bigger chances to get a large and mentioned they are ok if you decline. Now if they keep asking to give it, I'd agree being manipulative and suggested you leave the FC.

Back to the situation - no I wouldn't give the large for the reasons you stated. You had a plan to move your main, you have an idea you want to do with this plot, end of story. It's not selfish, it's your own gil and your own time spent earning them. But I see nothing bad in the FC leader asking either.

That's the thing..the reason why is bullcrap....that's the bottom line. (and you already reached that conclusion - im just making it a little clearer for everyone else..and FC leader if he reads this)

An FC house is just an "club house" - aside from RP'ing - there is absolutely no reason to have a large....even then...a larger FC could easily dump the funds and effort without having to (lets be honest here) beg for it. Yes housing is a thing...but to ask a member to drop their house and downgrade it...that's just adding insult to injury.

Ok fine - garden plots - but that can be resolved by helping their members get small's and such...many paths..many solutions. All of which don't require to give up your own house..and even then he could drop large garden plots and provide plants without surrendering his house....that's a far more reasonable request.

They are better off getting a small....and then waiting for a plot to open up and relocate there. If it weren't for the fact he asked you to downgrade..id (If i where you) volunteer to fund their efforts..but asking to give up your house is a slap in the face.

Oh, I fully agree and think the reasoning is rather poor but I still don't think they were being guilt trippy or offensive as people make it out to be. (i sound like the devil's advocate here and maybe they are going to be persistent and annoying later, who knows! lol). But yes, it's a bit bold to ask someone to give their large like that but I see no harm in asking and respecting the answer.

As someone whose been in this same exact situation, i was bothered for months to give up my large for the fc, when i frequently used my house more than any of them in the fc even used the fc house, it got to the point that i just left the fc and went to a new one that didn't rely on bullying people. Now i'm having a much better time and i still have my house =3, last i heard he was removed from the fc via a coup.

FC leader sounds kinda entitled. It's essentially a guilt trip to get their hands on something you worked for, not them. What you do with it is up to you, but I wouldn't be giving it to them. An 8-man FC with a medium house sounds like they have plenty of room already.

They were quite reasonable in what they said in the quote.

I personally don't think personal should be allowed to buy anything but apartments - failing that smalls. But the system is what it is and there's not allowed resale system so you're technically out if you trade.

While I see nothing wrong in their words, I also wouldn't see anything wrong in you refusing. And I wouldn't see anything wrong in them using that as a reason to not keep you in the FC. And likewise nothing wrong in your choosing to leave based on their words thus far.

There just isn't a moral context to this issue thus far. If either party started making demands or getting rude - my response would change.

As someone who has been there and actually gave up a large house for a small FC. I actually instantly regretted it and took me a while to get over it.

I thought I was doing people a favour and was so looking forward to sharing the house with them but it become apparent that they were just keeping it for themselves instead. So following my own experience, never again as you never know what people's intentions are until the deed is done. It should really only be done with really close, personal friends you trust. That's just me and you have every right to say no regardless. O.O

Absolutely not! We are people behind a screen so unfortunately never tell what someones true intentions are. You might end up giving that property to them and a month down the line you might get kicked from the FC.

Although it might be genuine, and you might think it makes sense to give up the property as you are just one person and they are several people, its not worth risking it and then you end up with nothing.
