Let's talk about Hunts - a detailed rundown of their assumed mechanics

I'd probably quit if something like that happened on my server, because hunts occupy a significant portion of my daily activites.

Already had it instant pull Bonnacon this morning, ran it's script and stopped at the zone line to Wineport for Croque, and it's now on the 8th scripted pathing loop running around trying to spawn Nandi.

edit: it appears to have a priority check. Before Nandi was within last 2 hours it would do Croque and then wait at the zone line until 10pm. Now with Nandi at 7:30+ open it ran the Croque search loop and instantly teleported back at the end.

edit2: and it instant pulled Nandi.

If that doesn't prompt a change to the power levels of the S Ranks, I don't know what will. The bots will just get better at hiding their bot-ness and you then can put down 1/2 of the S-rank roster as individual achievements. One organized FC doing this and you can add most of the rest. RIP The Hunt.

And I'm aware that this *could* be the vision of The Hunt that was originally intended (Big Game Hunters dominating, not the botting), and the server Linkshells / mass attacks not so much. I think we'll know for sure what's won out relatively Soon™

Maybe everyone could just not wait and be calling out hunts if you found it first? Ive been told by GM's that we can start the hunts on our own or with our own group. There is no need to wait nor should we have to wait for others. Which i can understand, if i found the hunt first, especially if i really need it, why am i gonna waste my time waiting when another player could just come and start it. Since it is allowed, i might as well start it myself or with my group. There is no need to wait for someone that isn't even in the same area as the hunt.

If you are complaining about hunts because you decided to wait but someone else didn't, well thats to bad for you. Maybe not wait and start it so you can get full credit. If not just get partial credit by joining whoever started it.

Especially with the old-world S ranks being such paper and the god awful S rank achievement that has the tiger mount gated behind it. Seriously, whoever at SE thought that was a smart idea needs das boot. -__-;

idk how that is a dick move when Yoshi-P himself also said that hunts are not meant to be killed by the whole server at once (stating the obvious of ppl like you calling out and waiting for players to arrive) GOD HIMSELF SAID THAT!! So if you and others are going against what he says and only getting angry because "you" couldn't get the hunt full credit because YOU decided to be the good boy and wait for players, that is not my, nor those that don't want to wait, not our problem.

you guys can complain all you want, but GM's and Yoshi-P have already said, don't wait. If you wait, thats your decision. Making others wait or resetting the hunt because you still want to wait for others, is also a form of griefing as you are also disrupting OUR gameplay from getting the hunt all because you chose to wait.

Besides all of that: You don't need to take part in the FATE to spawn Orghana. We just had a spawn from some of our linkshell members who just teleported to the zone after we finishedand he spawned Orghana.

So that is debunked. Everyone in the Zone can spawn Orghana if the condition is met.

It being a jerk move and it not being against the ToS are not mutually exclusive. Hunts, at least from how I know them, are a community effort. I'll spawn something today, someone else will spawn the next one tomorrow, and while we're each entitled to soloing the things without anyone else being there as far as the ToS is concerned, that's not how things ended up working. We have linkshells. We have hunting FCs. And while it originated from the need to have backup because you still need a large group to kill on-level S ranks, and even A ranks, if you're already in that kind of social interaction, it's only logical you'll let people know even if you don't need their help in order to actually kill the thing. Because tomorrow you'll want them calling it out so that you can partake of what they found/spawned, too.

Against the ToS to play the lone wolf? No.
Jerk move regardless? Absolutely, even if I agree that a line should be drawn and if you have 50 people on-site, you shouldn't have to wait for that 51st who was too busy finishing their craft to teleport over. But that's its own can of worms of a debate.

Also, they can say 'that's not how it was intended' all they want, that's just burying their heads in the sand and willingly ignoring how things ended up working. Not to mention... how on Earth do they think people ever got the tiger? Hunting alone? Please.
