I used Duty Roulette: Expert and got the Temple of the Fist. We had a dark knight, bard and ninja, and I was scholar. On the first few pulls, the dark knight wouldn't stop using Sprint to pull everything to the wall. That meant I had less Sprint duration and fell behind.

Queue him saying I'm bad and quitting when I defend myself. Ugh.

I figured this mechanic out on my second run through the place. You mean to say that people couldn't understand it months after it was released?

I didn't know, either, and considering a different dungeon is far more common in the roulette, it is possible people just don't run it as much to run into it. Or, you know, be a melee main on a different job who *wouldn't* be away from the boss.

Shinryu in progress, but was voted abandon and trial ended.

Try again. Susano in progress. After 2 minutes only lack 1 healer. Well, I dislike do trial as healer, but I leave to try help as scholar. I had luck of not dying and success in trial...
But I still need do daily in roulette trial XD

Try roulette again as bard and... Shinryu again in progress. 1 wipe and in new attempt, lacking 1%, everybody fall by Diamond Dust except me. Well, my HP as bard is 39k HP because I use vitality materia in acessory, but I cannot survive alone against Shinryu and new wipe. After 3 wipe, party vote abandon.

Bad story:
Leveling roulette: Doma Castle. I’m DPS for a change.

We start with WHM throwing out a regen as tank is pulling. WHM gets punched in the face, Tank regrabs aggro and keeps pulling. WHM decides best way to keep tank alive is to spam Medica 2. Wipe #1. Re-protect and run back..aaaaand then WHM facepulls before tank shows up. WHM dies. Wipe #2. We trek back and continue to be healed predominantly through Medica 2.

By some miracle, we reach the first boss.

WHM decides to mix things up- now switching between Cure 2 and medica 2 spam. Even with me tossing them a mana shift, WHM is oom at 60%. No signs of Lucid Dreaming or Thin Air, but thankfully the first boss is easy enough and everyone manages to pull through with their own potions/skills. At this point, WHM announces we all have to wait for him while his mana refills. Everyone enjoys the BGM for a bit and then we continue to the first room with the doggos. Pre-pull regen again, because why not, followed by Medica 2. Despite tank only juggling 3 enemies, WHM runs out of mana again. Tank dies, but the NIN and I manage to kill the enemies. I /p ask why they’re burning their mp so quickly. They /say “cause.”

As much as I’d like to believe they were trolling, they only had WHM leveled (AST still at 30, RDM 50) ..so I'm actually wondering if somehow someone legitimately made it to Doma Castle without ever discovering mp managing skills. Regardless, my heart goes out to the dps whose time he’ll waste next.


Good story:
Leveling roulette 2: Aurum Vale, again as DPS.

It was sprout tank’s first time and they did great. First room was a little slow with single pulls, but hey, no wipes! At one point later tank accidentally pulled more then they meant to, but through CDs and heals not only did they stay alive, but after they laughed about the sudden spike in excitement. Dungeon ended in emote spam and well wishes.

Anyway, roulette trial now gave Lakshmi and had success in complete daily. But I hope Square put echo for that 3 trial in patch 4.1

Aeri (leveling Roulette) the other day. Was in there with a buddy helping with his leveling Process a bit on his "Ninja". had one Sprout( new guy) as Monk and a Tank.
Thinks where working out quite ok i say until final Boss really.

The sprout was still in cutscenes, while the tank rushed in and pulled without waiting.

Me:" why do u pull already? we are 3 people"

The sprout somehow barely made it in but he really had to rush and probably skiped the video sequence to get in in time.

Tank:" Dunno what your problem is, we are 4 people, change your attittude"

Like seriously? Snarky comment after i asked why the hell he did not w8 for the new guy?

Me:" he rushed in to make it in time because u idiot pulled"

Well, idiot probably was not the right way to put it but i was really annoyed after that. What he did then was just rude:
after the small little dps check where u have to go into Estiniens Bubble to survive, Estinien is still on the field, He turned the boss torwads him and Killed him, wiping us in the process. My friend and i already said to each other "that was no accident"

He was north jumping around in circles while nidhogg turned and cleaved us etc., note, he was a 24/7 tank stance Tank so now way he lost aggro, he even got every Shadewalker he can possibly get from my friend. Our guess was the he on purpose "Shirked" one of us.
Anyway, that move, whatever it was was a really dick move and we all did not take that too kindly, so a votekick followed after another of his snarky comments, and insulting me for misstiping some words, (well excuse me, english is still not my main language, so some hickups can happen)


This guy really had some Temper problems i can tell u, getting angry because i asked him why the hell he pulled without waiting on the new guy, and after small arguring purposely wiping the grp out of spite? No comment to that... In my eyes he deserved to get booted out.

For the uninformed, in Temple of the Fist, the "Spirit Wave" attack of the final boss places a big tornado on the player that is farthest away from him.

Why do healers feel the need to stack on the boss's ass? Why can't they be the ones to bait this tornado away?...

Maybe you should let them know. TBH, I only started considering that it was the farthest person away the last couple of times i went in there. Until then I thought it targeted someone at random but i realized it only seemed to affect casters.

When i run expert(after the initial unlocks i have only run these through expert), i wind up in Ala or Kugane like 90-95% of the time(my groups get a lot of mount drops and i got mine ages ago, but i rarely if ever see minis). Every time i randomly hit Temple again(usually after not having been there in a couple weeks) i have to quickly try to remember the mechanics. The cats arent too bad, but 4 arms is annoying. He usually gets me at least once with either the fore-aft/port-star thing(half the time i dont remember if i need to be in or avoid the area hes calling the first time he does this move) or the shield thing. It was maybe my 3rd time there when i figured out the main guys orb thing(the rest of the group picked them up the first two, i just stood there spamming damage). And i honestly thought that spirit wave was based on hate position. It always seemed to get me when i started hot, and to get someone else when i started with diversion and maybe an extra second or two of setup. So yeah, not super obvious.
