Frog legs, to be precise. Against common belief, not the whole frog is processed and in spite of myth, they're not eaten whole nor alive either. And they're far from the only ones who do such - But they're the ones where the stereotype stuck, and for almost 400 years by now. It's one of the strongest associations you'll find with the french and often used as mockery on the net.

The toad summon is a part of classic Ninja mythos. If you don't like it, you don't like it. But you cant deny its deep ties to Ninjas of old.

The frog is Hype yo.

And if you've never had frog legs you're doing yourself a tremendous disservice. They taste like chicken but WAY more tender. Just need to get past the fact they're amphibians which may or may not be considered the -norm- where you live.

I don't post on these forums a lot, but in the very small chance that devs happen to read this, I wanted to voice my disapproval for the frog.

What made me fall in love with Ninja was its combination of Huton and skills such as Dream within a Dream that showcase the fast, multi-hit, dual-wielding nature of the class in the series (FFIII or FFT) while also having an effective and speedy form of magic through ninjutsu that could mimic mid level spells as an evolution past a typical Thief job (FFI and Edge in FFIV). Then adding the Shadow sort of clothing, it felt like a culmination/tribute to the Ninja job throughout the series.

With the addition of a very goofy, distracting frog that seems more taken (edit: in its presentation and delivery) from Senran Kagura or Naruto, I feel like Ninja has taken some damage to its thematic integrity. It's not something that can be taken back, and I'm sure many Ninjas (like myself) will attempt to get past it, but it's not the direction that I wanted to see this job evolve into.
