.....The hell are you on about? I don't see people talking about flying chairs like this.I have no problem with wings, but there are some issues that SE would have to workout first
All of this means that Wings are one of those types of games where the only winning move is not to play.
- Symbolism: Type of wings aside, the concept in general are usually associated with Mary Sues and F2P games. That is something that can't be fixed easily
- Genetics and Lore: For starters, none of the playable races have wings. And the game prides itself on giving explanations for most game play stuff. And the more aetherical wings would likely be functional or temporary (see the Seraphic Wing prisms). In this regard it would be easier to implement temporary wings, but I doubt most people who want wings would have this in mind
- Obtaining: Given the Mog Station I'd imagine that some people would be furious if the wings were only obtained there (see: the first point) and given the reaction to the Samsonian Locks and the method dog getting it, I'd say people would also be mad that its RNG based (again) and lottery boxes would get the worse of both worlds
- Redundancy: Consider this: Flying mounts exist. And I think if they are gonna add mutations to player charatcers it might make more sense for these mutations be for purposes other than showing off.
Apparently symbolism means something now? How about the whm gear we've been getting in Heavensward, in particular the chimericle gear that looks like priest robes and nun habits, and we wear those fighting monsters and bandits while priests and such are against violence. Null void.
Genetics and Lore? Are you forgetting the Chocobo Hat, Moogle Hats, Succubus Horns, Behemoth Horns, Wolf Tails (PvP gear), Echtal Claws (or h/e you spell it), no lore and genetic complaints for those? Yep, get that outta here.
Obtaining? They already said China has to pay for it, why are you making it more complicated?? 24$ didn't stop people from buying the Odin Mount, and i'm seeing people with Cait Sith Ears (add it up there too why don't ya). Its cosmetics, don't buy it if you don't like it. Damn.
Redundancy.....You're redundant. Explain why we have succubus horns as a item we can wear....uh huh.....ohh thats it right? Cosmetics you say? Well no duh sherlock.
Also, to add that it doesn't fit into this game, let me remind the gist of you why wings fit into this game and series.
Sell em for 25$ if they fly SE!
Clothes with wings sell in china make u not fly with what i saw on forums :/ And i dont like this cloth with wings , would like more little wings and a better cloth . Well we cant have all![]()
I would take only angel and devil chocobo barding if they give them on our servers.
I'll be honest though, I wouldn't mind the halo/horns.

Awful stuff, wings belong on Deviantart along with all the other Donut Steel tackiness (which is what the FFVII compilation turned into after the original game)
Let China keep that crap.

Thats becuase the post was made way before fanfest. I can;t really complain about an idea that wasn't known at the time.
As for the "fighting priests" think, that is actually a little consistent considering the Vault, where every mob there is either a priest, another member of the clergy or a machine (plus some Voidsent). There is still a little hints about the tome gear (AF gear aside, the Eikonic Gear are replicas, Jessie made the Ironworks gear and Gerolt made the Soldery gear, which may or may not be based off old allagan designs [IE the i150 Adamantite gear]).
The Wings lore is more due to the fact no one on Hydealyn has wings (Kuribu is a statue and the Bloodguard voidsent are inherently not native to this plane of existence) attached the the character rather than the outfit (I concede on the cosmetic points though, and the precedence of Sephiroth and other winged charterers in the franchise).
The lack of Lore regarding armor might be because usually weapons are seen as more legendary than armor. And the more silly stuff comes from the Gold Saucer or events, or the clearly non-canon veteran rewards and the Mog Station . Plus I think of it from a real life perspective and a perspective where people can commision Weavers, Leatherworkers and Armorers to make whatever they want, including fat chocobo masks, just for fun.
As it currently stands the Wings china is getting seem to be more akin to the Dreadwyrm gear where the wings were tied to the outfit. So I have no problem with those 2 sets
