Sorry ,but an emergency maintenance it's not a flaw, even the fact that they had 24 hours for all servers maintenance to be sure that there is no issue with the data centers after it went live.
@snowtiger : I do agree with the time not being stopped when these things happen, especially if they are not planned.

my thing was only people don't need to be nasty if they dislike a post its rude and I'm just having fun with it. I know with servers stool happens but If there is Emergency work its because of a flaw somewhere. however it will happen and this game tripled in subs in like what a year? that's not good for servers unless you have time to plan for it. I think test servers that get content added before a server wide sweep would be a good. there is a lot of stuff to do in this game. I can wait an extra month or three for the content and Square can save some Duct Tape...

Also beside the 'drama queen' which was posted before, what do you find offensive? That people discuss a subject and provide a point of view from their angle?

Just some of the nasty, angry responses and/or snarky remarks (like yours).. there are quite a few and it really isn't necessary. People came on here to share THEIR point of view and are called names, told they "want to be a victim," told that we think the world is ending if the servers are down, this is why no one takes us seriously etc etc.. this is what we get for sharing our opinion. SQ asks us to give feedback and what seems like a whole mess of butthurt fanbois come raging to their rescue.. why? I wasn't insulting anyone nor was the OP and, again, I was making a suggestion on how to make everyone happy. Why is it such a big deal? If we came shrieking onto the forums calling names, being nasty and actually whining I'd understand but right now it's like I went onto an Microsoft forum talking about how much better Apple is. Yeesh.

This has got nothing on the amount of emergency maintenance FFXI had during content updates. I remember one time there being a message to stay out of Lower Jeuno because it was bursting apart at the seams.

Final Fantasy XIV have very few maintenances. Sure with new content it's not unusual but certainly not unexpected. Personally I'm happy they address the issues so quickly.
