I too play monk because of positioning. I get bored otherwise.
I doubt any of this will take happen but this is my wishlist.
- Dungeon scaling
- Possibilities to run dungeons solo/duo/trio and get exp (not talking unsynch - just stop forcing people to group with strangers CONSTANTLY!)
- Mercenaries
- Less content gating and account shared unlocks
- No copy/paste tome grinding
- Dungeon randomization and traps/puzzles in dungeons
- Pretty/more realistic horses
- Raids that entail more than just killing bosses and some trash
- change in gear progression
- raised speed for land mounts
- Please no aetherial water currents if we get swimming!
- Underwater/air combat
- More skill and stat customization for characters - let us be different from each other!
- Content that is more than just a grind (tomes, relic etc)
- No more weekly tome caps
- STOP PS3 SUPPORT and let the game raise it's standards
- More open-world content
- GLAMOUR BOOK/WARDROBE
- More storage
Also, I implore the devs to have a look at games that are NOT WoW for inspiration. WoW had it's time and people are leaving it for a reason. There are many amazing games out there that have been around for a long time as well and are still going strong simply because they have a capitvating system and offer variety). There are many things that older games are doing better than FFXIV (see dungeon scaling, char customization, loot/gear distribution) and I believe this game could be amazing if it would just take inspiration from games like RIFT, DDO, Ragnarok Online, Tera etc.
There are unlimited sources of inspiration, do not limit this game, make it better!
- All races get new faces. Since Every 4 faces...Need more 6-10 new faces style
- character body size. Like thin, fat, muscles, for both males/females
- New hairs.
- We fight new enemies or bosses from old games.
- Flying continue!
- New zones
- New flying mounts
- Mounts/minoins come account-wide from drop in game and store.
- New class...I saw who wanted Samurai. I'm sure for it.
- Dye on all and high level gears. What I want. ( Since it's really harder get before)
- Swimming and walk/run skip from deep lake/river. (no fight in water)
Sorry bad english

- a substantial main story quest line
- a review of existing jobs, condensing redundant skills prior to adding even more.
- high res texture pack
- better ilv progression moving forward
- multiple dye slots on armor, for increased customization
- the inclusion of longer term goal objectives. There aren't enough systems in place to keep people playing a month after each patch.
Yoshi P has made comments several times about the possibility of adding Hybrid classes with the earliest we could expect something like that as 4.0.
- I could see 3-4 new Hybrid classes being added to the game in 4.0: RDM and SAM could both fit those categories nicely making people looking forward to said classes very happy.
- I could totally see a trailer/hype begin in October. It's when Heavensward was announced, after all.
- With more classes in the expansion, I really wish they would be friendlier towards people gearing up multiple classes. Especially with things like relic. I'm not a big fan of the grinds for the sake of grinding even less so on more than one job. =/
- It would never happen, but what if you could play as a boss-like mob in a dungeon against adventurers who are leveling in it? Maybe something along the lines of you couldn't heal, but you got rewards for killing them they get extra rewards for killing you? I dunno, like I said it probably wouldn't happen. Maybe something for GS? Evolve like thing? *shrug*
- It will never happen, but I'd love to see the skill chain => magic burst system be brought back from FFXI. It needn't be as complicated but i enjoyed the system and I kind of miss it =/
- I would love to see a class like Relm from FF6 implemented where you could paint various things for different effects. =p
- More than just 2 dungeons in an expert roulette T______T;
- The 2.0 beast tribe quest reputation being bumped up so I actually have some incentive to finish them because going up by 7/10/etc points out of 510+ is just ridiculous.
- The 1000 char limit being removed because that's kinda silly too.
Housing
- I'd really like to see unlimited plots for housing. Yes, there is a necessary hardware overhead that comes with a housing plot, but pretty much every cloud-based hosting solution out there offers an API for automatic spin-up and tear-down of server instances. I can easily imagine the backend of a system that automatically generates a new ward whenever there's less than 10 plots available (heck, I could diagram the logic and even write some of the API calls for certain cloud vendors).
- With a system like that, plots that are "reclaimed" can be restored into an open plot of the same size and configuration for just a few Gil (maybe ~100k). This would also allow people to transfer their houses to new plots, which is something they've said they've wanted to do for awhile, and would also allow people to take their houses with them to new servers.
- I'd also like to see enhanced privacy options for houses, wherein you can decide who is allowed inside as tickboxes: friends, linkshell members (with a dropdown to select which linkshell), FC-mates, etc. The tenants system they added was a good start, but it would be really cool to see more.
- I'd like to see a means by which houses can be traded between FCs and individuals, with or without furnishing intact.
- I'd also like it if the exterior item limit on small houses were raised to 150-200% of what it is now, and the interior limit for mansions tripled.
- I'd really like to see new wards in Revenant's Toll, Idyllshire, Gold Saucer, and Ishgard, with a plan to add new housing wards to each major hub city and/or construction project we encounter going forward.
Social
- I'd really like to see a better blacklist/block option. Users should not be restricted to blacklisting a certain number of players, especially when there are so many RMT bots out there.
- Speaking of RMT bots: if a player moves from the server or is deleted in association with RMT, take them off the blacklist.
- Finer granularity in terms of privacy settings would be excellent. Allow us to configure contact and interaction permissions for FC mates, friends, party members, people nearby, housemates, linkshells, and blacklisted individuals (e.g. Matrix of tickboxes for whisper, party invite, public chat, linkshell, FC, retainer interaction, etc.).
- Allow blacklisting across servers.
RMT Prevention
- RMT advertising is the one big problem facing FFXIV, and it is actually costing SE substantial amounts of money (both in server resources, GM productivity, and subscriber aggravation). So it needs to be dealt with.
- GMs should be given tools that help them track the flow of Gil, and that highlight frequent transfers of extreme sums, to help them more easily see who is moving large amounts of Gil.
- A given IP should have a three-strikes rule regarding RMT. If an IP is caught in a RMT transactions three times, it should be configured on the server to refuse connections, permanently.
- Limits should be placed on the amount of character searches a player can perform per unit of time. No one should be pinging the server for a list of all online players, let alone as frequently as the RMT spambots must.
- Limits should also be placed on the amount of messages a character can send out at a time to strangers in a given channel (no more than two messages in ten seconds, no more than five messages in a minute, no more than 25 every ten minutes, etc.).
- Limit the frequency at which accounts can create new characters to once an hour, and add an additional 23-hour delay if a character of theirs was recently suspended/deleted.
- Put a scanning algorithm in place to watch for regular, repetitive behavior, or actions that occur more quickly than any human could possibly complete them (e.g. if user sends out 30 messages in 2 seconds, they're a bot; if a user only does one key input, followed immediately by a message of consistent character length, exactly every 30 seconds for more than two minutes, they're a bot; etc.).
- In general, SE needs to take a very strong approach to enabling their GMs to combat the problem, and heavily promote vigilance on their part. In general, a hardline stance against RMT is required.
Content
- The pace and difficulty of dungeons in Heavensward was excellent, for the most part. Having a new dungeon every two levels was a great pace, and I felt that the dungeons were challenging, but not too difficult.
- Quests should not offer HQ rewards (except maybe on proc), as this removes the incentive for crafters to make leveling gear.
- Guildhests and GC content should be included with the expansion, and not four patches later. Making guildhests relevant again would be wonderful, as the short, episodic nature is great when you only have a small amount of time.
- The blunder of Aetherochemical Research Facility should be avoided. The dungeon was extremely difficult by comparison to other content, and did not offer any sort of reasonable reward for completion, nor incentive to run it again. While it echoed back to the Main Scenario Roulette (Praetorium and Castrum), the reward it offered was too small to justify repeating. It should offer gear, or be in a daily roulette of substantial reward.
- FATEs should offer a higher EXP reward, so that they are worth the time it takes to go to and complete them. I'd say halfway between sidequest and MSQ would be ideal.
- The NM/HM/EX split worked well in 2.x for primals, so I'd request that the leveling versions of primals introduced in 4.0 be 4-man and included in the leveling roulette, with the 8-man HM and EX versions opening once were at max level.
- Ideally, a roulette should have at least three instances. Any fewer, and it becomes repetitive, and people become easily burnt out. For instance: most people I know are already burnt out on the 3.2 Expert Roulette, but going into the level 60 roulette is like visiting an old friend, and helps to keep things fresh. Either keep Expert Roulette as the four most recent dungeons, or release three dungeons per content patch.
- More Hildy, please.
Jobs
- To contain action bloat, either give actions meant to replace existing actions, or give traits to alter the way existing actions behave.
- This time around, we got one member of each role. I'd like to see a Str-Melee DPS, and another Int-Ranged DPS, and either a tank or a healer (probably a healer). Don't even need three per expansion, but it would follow the precedent.
- For the love of the Twelve, please fix Parry. I like it, but everyone else hates it, and it's in a bad spot, so please fix it, SE.
- Let Bards be mobile again, without such a huge penalty.
- Please, for the love of the Twelve, make sure that every class/job gets a story they can be proud of and enjoy. I don't want my Paladin to go hunting for another godsdamned sword.
DoL/DoH
- Everyone universally agrees that the Specialist system isn't fun, and that it has failed in its stated goal of benefitting individuals who have not leveled up more than one DoH class, instead only hurting such players while doing nothing to alleviate the requirement of DoH gameplay to have each class leveled to 50.
- Specialist recipes should not require specialists to craft; specialists should instead receive a fixed-percentage boost to their stats when crafting an item in that specialty. For example, a BSM crafting a BSM specialty recipe could receive +25% Craftsmanship and +25% Control for the duration of the craft (coefficients subject to change - it should be substantial, but not so much that it is the only way to complete the craft).
- Do not gate DoL behind MSQ.
- Do not require DoH for DoL progression.
- Do not require DoL for DoH progression.
- HQ crafted gear should be slightly lower than purchaseable gear (red scrip gear), and capable of matching through melding.
- DoL collectible actions should use TP as a resource instead of GP.
- Collectible nodes should still be on a timer, but should remain up for several hours at a time.
- I'd really like to see a system wherein crafters can create a tradeable version of an aetherial item, and maybe give them some way to influence what and how many secondary stats there are.
Free Companies
- More granular access, control, and privacy options would be fantastic.
- Don't let people promote themselves or others above their current rank in the FC.
- Expand FC actions to the new level cap when the expansion launches.
Add-On API
- Introduce the add-on API.
- While I don't agree that parsers should be allowed, because they only show maybe 10% of the picture regarding someone's performance and contribution, there are so many ways that talented users could improve upon the UI that it seems silly not to do it.
New Race
- Viera - crowd favorite from FFXII and others. Matriarchal bunny-folk.
- Burmecian - Freya from FFIX. Highly spiritual rodent-people.
- Ronso - Kimahri from FFX. Like Miqo'te, but bigger, and with more fur, more beast-like features, and horns.
Character Customization
While I have a slew of enhanced customization options in mind, I think it would be more prudent for the developers to focus on a way that they can reconfigure the customization screen to include more options. In that way, they would be able to introduce more options with each patch, either by introducing new sections to existing options, or by introducing new options completely.
May add more later, if I can think of anything.

I hope its swimming
Would Final Fantasy XIIs Gambit System for Chocobo Companions be too much to ask?
I'm really quite sick of my Chocobro using Choco Regen or Choco Medica instead of Choco Cure... They could be quite useful, but their AI is beyond trash, I'd actually like to see more content potentially involve them if they were better...
Heck, give me Final Fantasy XIs Trust system and give us the option to swap the Chocobo Companion out for various NPCs... Could be a nice nod back to those forgotten Class quest NPCs...

Just putting my support behind playable Viera, both male and female (though I'd play male) because I've wanted to play male viera since Tactics A2. Also Red Mage and/or Dancer as new jobs.
