    because its a quick repositioning, much like dragoon jumps, a closer such as monk shoulder tackle, evasive like repelling shot, elusive jump, aetherial manipulation. more than just for show. as far as aiming it, brds have been doing somethin similar for ages with flaming arrow, it really doesnt take long to aim somethin like this. set distance? miscalculate and your still far from target or end up tank side in a fight just in time to eat a cleave

    edit: in fact other than the quelling that comes with the elusive jump a drg has, i believe the nin skill you mention trumps all my examples because of the versatility
