Why your Party Finder SUCKS (aka why no one joins your pf)

Hm, I see what you're saying, but there's always another side to things. Most parties I've joined with comments like "Know the fight!" ended up being run by very rude people. I'm not saying that you're one of them by any means, but that there's a stigma on PFs like that due to a handful of bad eggs.

For instance, I once joined a T5 clear party while I was in T9, just to help some randoms. The off-tank stood too far beneath Twintania, so when I took fireball to him, her body slam did extra damage and killed me on the spot. The blame immediately shifted to me and I was accused of "not knowing where my OT was", even though I'd taken fireball to him and it had gone off accordingly. I even asked nicely for him to just back up a little bit. I was healing so, needless to say, we wiped.

Ever since then, I've avoided parties using those phrases unless I really just wanted to run something again for fun and had nothing else to do. I know a lot of people that feel the same way. People just expect you to have a certain attitude when they see those words, I suppose.

Why does your PF exist?
Is it to farm, to clear, or to troll? Make it clear to everyone by writing clear, farm, or troll in the description so people know what they are getting in on.

You forgot about learning parties....or are you saying that all learning parties are troll parties and learning parties don't exist?

Why are you the only on in there?
Why not ask your FC or LS before setting up the PF? Studies have shown people are 8x more likely to join a PF if there is at least 2 people already in there (citation needed).

I lead an FC that isn't currently active enough that I can guarantee even one other person on who wants to run with me (that is my own fault and needs to change). I have a farming linkshell and a hunt linkshell, but I don't ask either of them for help clearing content, if that's what I'm doing (I will ask people in my farm LS if they're interested in farming runs if that's what I'm up to, tho).

Feel free to sound encouraging.
Saying 'bonus welcome' instead of 'no noobs' will get people joining if it's a clear, and saying 'quick runs' instead of 'you fail, I kick' will get people joining if it's a farm. Basically, don't sound like a dick.

I sometimes put "have patience" in there as well. My minimum ilvl for the fight is usually 175, but I had it at 180 last time. Is there anything wrong with that other than the high ilvl requirement (which I use because people think there's only one way to kill that whale and won't try methods that actually work with lower dps)?

we did 12 runs before some members had to get to work. Compare this to other parties which try to be nice about it, and create a farm party that requires "experience". 9 times out of 10, a player with a bonus appears, nobody kicks them, it's a wipefest

Seriously, this.

Even when I'm looking for a farm party, I avoid the ones that say "no noobz!" or "2 mistakes and I burn your family!" Not because I'm going to make mistakes or am a noob, but because that attitude is really unpleasant to be around.

I would probably join that one just to see how it plays out tbh

I joined because I found this amusing. The kicker? The group one shotted all the bosses and had a good time doing it.

Avoid groups that have bad spelling. If they can't spell usually it turns out bad. Just saying. (Also note how BADLY they spell is usually how bad it goes too, its a weird correlation I've found.)

I think both types of wording have their place. It's great to be friendly and welcoming to get people to join your group. At the same time, nothing kills your spirit faster than when you're trying to farm/accomplish something and someone joins who ruins an otherwise perfect group and causes it to disband.
