Ending MSQ in 3.0 Spoilers

Scions , garlean , Warrior of Darkness , Ascians ---> idk how SE will put THAT much lore/content in next updates . Cause pre 2.5 updates story was good , but totally awesome for me was 2.0 and 2.5 only , 2.1/2.2/2.3 was more like some fillers ;(

Maybe they may make 3.X MSQ longer than 2.X MSQ.

Ya not many people enjoyed 2.X MSQ due to the tedious quests they had the WoL do but 3.0 provides actual plot to follow for 3.X and a lot of it. So 3.X MSQ has some focus that certainly may require a slightly biggger MSQ than 2.X MSQ updates.

Are they adding additional story content? I may have misunderstood some of the information but I thought they were just opening Alexander which to my understanding was the new raid content. Is there anything else coming?

they add big content patches every 3 months.. look how much story was added to ARR MSQ each patch.. same will happen in HW

I feel the opposite. Heavensward MSQ was actually a lot longer than I expected. And I think they left it at a perfect spot to continue with the tri-monthly updates. Immediate issue with the Archbishop was resolved. Primals were dealt with. Two, count them two, Ascians were permanently destroyed. And Garlond is temporarily out of Eorzea's hair.

Most likely in the first major update, the main two concerns will be dealing with Estinien/Nidhogg and dealing with the Empire. If they do a 24 man raid, it will probably be something to do with working against the Empire in Azys Lla.

They likely won't resolve everything within the 3.X arc. Remember 2.0 introduced several story elements that still haven't been addressed and the 2.X series introduced a lot more (the dark crystal, the disappearance of the Isle of Val, etc.) There were a lot of people back then who actually believed we would defeat all the ascians and Zodiark before the release of the expansion...

Personally I think we'll find another member of the Scions each patch whilst primarily dealing with the Garleans in Azys Lla and figuring out how to defend against Nidhogg (i.e. find a way to use Omega). I think the Warriors of Darkness will be a peripheral threat for now and likely won't be resolved within this patch cycle.

I felt like a lot more happened in 50-60 than 1-50 (so not counting 50 patch content).
There was no filler, and I was surprised how much happened in that space since it was so concise.

I'm excited for the upcoming patch story content, but I definitely didn't feel like "Huh? That's all?" by the end.
Just the opposite really, they went past my expectations.

Don't forget, A Realm Reborn's storyline had to cover 50 levels whereas Heavensward covered 10 levels. Also, ARR's storyline did two particular things; it (re)established your character as the Warrior of Light, and also really folded in all of the 1.0 storyline in with the new 2.0 storyline. So, there is definitely a lot more storyline to cover during ARR's progression, but HW certainly has opened up the plot doors for future content.

I haven't seen anything specific about Alexander also moving the storyline forward just yet, though I suspect at the very least there'll be some kind of Crystal Tower-esque sidequest series we have to do to unlock it, plus any accompanying new quests they may have added. Storyline may just be a part of it!

Besides ... Alexander was already notioned at after the credits rolled.

Alexander is going to be a Side Storyline like Coil so it won't involve the MSQ in 3.X era.

The new 24 member raid was confirmed to be arriving in 3.1 and will not be related to past FF game. It will be something new tied only to FF14.
