    Alright. I do have a favour to ask. If it's not too much, would you mind recording your kills next time you go for coil so I can sort of study them? I really want to push even harder. I mean, my DPS definitely isn't bad, I am a good BLM, but when I see your numbers, I feel like there might be something I am missing. My highest on T10 is 503 with ilvl 126 and 130 weapon. T11 is 480, I can't seem to get used to it (freak out a bit and move too much). T12 I don't really know and on T13 I do 480 (merged) and around 500-510 (unmerged). Would greatly appreciate late recordings to study a bit.

    Nothing wrong with those numbers, a lot of it depends on your group and how the team deals with different mechanics etc.

    People boast about doing X DPS on X fight, but for a real comparison of DPS you'd need to be in the same party and do several runs together.

    the 555 on t10 is achieved by: using RS on pull coupling it with int pot cast as normal ( I got 0 blue orbs.) Aetherial manipulate in order to pair up for the blue orb helper (sorry I can't word this any better.) when RS comes up again hold it don't use it until then lb add phase. That particular add phase I used lb 2 since lb 3 isnt up yet cause gear and shit. after lb drops cast thunder on one courel opposite of your intended target, use fire 3 on said courel, swap hit raging strikes, use fire 1s until you get to flare mp, cast flare, swiftcast convert, flare again, swap to a new pair with quelling up, ether flare, RS falls off. resume dps by ending every fire with a flare as long as there are more than 1 target. when transposing out of flare make sure you get atleast two ticks, or your transpose won't be off cool down if you only wait one, this is a rng thing cause sometimes you wont need to wait. If you have to wait use thunder 1 or somethign as filler, hold thunder clouds in this phase for when you are in ice phase. Resume dps as you normally would after. There is some luck involved due to blue orbs and you need selene. My static doesnt go until saturday, but I'll record until I catch a nice parse again.

    Exactly what this dude said. I'm not as much boasting as I am comparing my highest to Lucrezias' nin's highest. which is 555 to 607

    Their Nin has done atleast 625 for T10, there is a link to their parse somewhere on these forums.

    Need to try and convince our static's Sch to use Selene >.<

    Just a thought, does the simplification of the game make it harder to balance? for example there really isn't a control mage in the game, since most cc simply doesn't work at all, this (in my opinion) makes the game easier. Since if the control mage was present it would require the development of fights needing that cc to be used. Which means more to do than just pew pew, which is pretty much what mages in general do now. and cc type abilities is something that traditionally in other rpg based games made mages attractive.

    DoT classes are impossible to balance as DPS in modern MMORPGS because of the way game mechanics are designed. Traditionally DoT classes were controllers but in modern MMORPGS they have been recast as bubble healers like Scholars. The only for the Summoner to maintain the same game play and be balanced is if SE make it so all hardcore endgame raid bosses take 5min to kill.

    Unless there are 2 targets to attack, I believe BLM has the upper hand in most instances. BLMs make dungeons cakewalks and most primal fights, BLMs out damage SMNs too. Doesn't mean they suck in said instances.

    depends on the pull size. up to 4 mobs smn and blm are kinda close. definitely more than the other DDs. on larger pulls blms are stronger while the other can close the gap if the player behind knows how to aoe. though melee/brd aoe always means running out of tp quickly.
    boss fights usually don't last long enough to come in contact with smn's the mp issues.

    but on normal content balance doesn't really mean that much anyway.

    Normal content is so simplistic that balance does not matter anyways. All you have to do is be able to breathe and you can complete normal content with any class. End game content (and PVP, but that is another discussion) is the only place where balance is important.
